A continuation of the popular "Ask the Devs" segment of DDOCast,
we've taken our developers off the mic to answer some of the questions that didn't fit into the show recording.
Here is this week's Ask the Devs question!
"There has been alot of rumors and questions about the level cap as to whether it will be 2 levels for 8 and last 2 levels for 9 or all at once for level 9 and can you elaborate a little to what the new enhancements for the Fighters and Paladins are getting as in what will they actually do as im sure they won't be exactly like pnp. and is there any chance that we might get some kind of rewards for favor in between 400 and 1750? since we have tieflings as npc characters and villians any way to incorperate them as playable toons??
- Sean"
Producer Glin says:
"We're currently working to increase the level cap to 20 for Module 9, which would result in a level increase from level 16 up to 20. This of course means that we'll be having to add new abilities, spells, etc for that increase. Be sure to stop by the Community Team's thread to let us know what spells you're interested in seeing! We've already seen a lot of great feedback and ideas in that thread, so keep it coming!"
Developer Eladrin says:
"For Module 8, paladins will enjoy new spells such as Zeal (a sacred bonus to attack speed), Lionheart (a low level fear immunity buff), and Stalwart Pact (a luck bonus, damage reduction, and hit point boost for dire situations). Even Clerics, Sorcerers, and Wizards will see some new spells. Fighters will now have the Fighter Weapon Specialization line of enhancements, that can add bonuses to damage."
Associate Producer Nanook says:
"We've actually talked about more things that we can do with the favor system. A lot of players enjoy working towards various favor achievements, and the prestige that comes with being a player who has favor rewards, and we definitely want to continue to add incentives for players who like to work towards favor achievements."
Senior Producer Kate Paiz says:
"We get a lot of requests for various types of playable character races. Our next races we'd like to work on however are the Half-orc and the Half-elf, which we'd like to release at the same time. The Half-elf has similar qualities to two races that already exist in our game - humans and elves - and didn't feel as rich compared with the prospect of the strength based Half-orc. So we felt it would be better to still offer the Half-elf, but at the same time as the Half-orc. Players who enjoy variety in their choice of race will have a nice selection to pick from!"
