As of this afternoon I was in the game and playing fine.
I decided I wanted to check out the Mod 8 preview on Risia.
I download the Risia content, check it out for a bit, and then decide to go back to playing the regular game.
I close Risia ~> open DDO ~> type in my password ~> log in ~> choose a world to log into ~> the game crashes with no error code or explanation.
This occurred for every world.
I uninstall Risia, but still have the same problem.
I uninstall DDO and re-install it.
Still have the same problem.
Please help.

If it matters, I turned on DirectX10 while in Risia.

Logically it makes sense that the DX10 may be messing with it somehow so in the meantime I will re-download Risia and see if I can get in there to turn off DX10. I would have hoped that they would not have designed the two to be incompatible with each other.

Go to your userpreferences.ini file and manually change the GraphicsCore=D3D10 setting to GraphicsCore=D3D9 and you can access. I just had to do the same thing.

Where do I find this? I'm not seeing it in the Turbine folder.

Open the Windows Menu (icon in bottom left corner of desktop) and type Userpreference.ini in the Start Search bar.

Please note the edit to the series string, its not 3D3DX but D3D

I made that same change...from D3D10 to D3D9...but I'm still having the issue. Black screen with a cursor...program stops responding. :(

Start a separate thread with your launcher logs for the Tech guys to peruse. You can follow the "How to Get Help" sticky for getting the logs, or go to your windows search bar in windows menu and type "Launcher."
