In the spirit of our guild motto "What could possibly go wrong ?", 4 of us decided we'd give the shroud a shot 4 man style.

The most fun part about this, was that we actually didn't plan ahead on this. It was a complete and total "whim". We did a quick discussion as to who everyone wanted to bring and what might work well together and off we went. Each character went in there "as is" carrying only their normal stock, weapons and items.

Here is what we ended up taking:

Krakungol (Kraak), Dwarf, 15 ranger, 1 barb
Deathros (Searros), Human, 14 Cleric, 2 Paladin
Mystory (Sacrifice), Human, 12 Paladin, 4 Fighter
Krazarian (Jasarian, "The BARD"), Dwarf, 13 Bard, 2 Rogue, 1 Fighter

I wasn't watching the clock close enough to get times on each part, but part 1 took about 26 minutes. From there, the focus was on the raid more than the clock :D

During parts 1 - 4 our poor bard was having significant connection issues and even though they were driving him nuts, he stuck with us ! Way to stick in there Jas !

Part 2 was Troll, Earth, Kobald and Orthon. This is where we had our only two deaths the entire raid. Poor Kraak pulled a few too many trash mobs when we first went in and then he got ganked by the troll when I wasn't watching for his second death

Part 3, poor, poor Jas.....our only lock guy....kept DC'ing every time he tried to run around to get the locks. We did get through and got all 4 chests, but due to DC's we had to work the last two rooms around the friendly wall

Part 4 went very smooth the first 3 rounds, only a couple pots, and mostly scrolls. Then the lag monster hit. It took out Kraz entirely for the next 3 rounds and didn't let him back until our 7th (but very short) round and then we finished him off. No deaths on part 4, and this was the only place we used pots.

Part 5 was pretty typical and uneventful, nothing special to talk about there.

Total resources used:

Just shy of 300 Heal scrolls (and I was on my last 20, that's what we get for "whim" runs lol)
13 Major pots. One more was destroyed during part 4 due to those nice little fireballs grrr

I've included screenshots of each part as we went through it. I do apologise for the blur on the images. This was required due to our "friendly" plat spammers and a couple of personal tells I received during the raid :)

Certainly not a stellar completion time, but we were not in a rush and took our time.

I'm very proud of all these guys for their hard work and dedication. Everyone gave it their 110% effort and we had a blast doing it. Thanks to all the other guild members who were on last night and cheered us on !

Awesome job guys. It's good to see others challenging themselves and pushing the envelope! Let's keep them rolling. :)

It was really, really fun. Gave the battle a real epic feel. We played on everyone's strengths. Prop's to Jasarian. I would have dropped after that many DC's but he stuck with us, kept us hasted, songed, and unlocked doors in between - with up to 43% packet loss. Great job Jas.

Searros - Great job on the heals and kills.
Sac - what's a 40k plat repair bill between friends?

Great time. Almost makes you want to run short all the time, after grinding so much. Wish all luck in their ventures. Cheers.

When ATD ran the 6-man awhile back, it was really great, wouldn't mind doing it that way more often. Doesn't use any more resources than a 12, and still have the element of failure, although unlikely.

Congrats on your 4-man.

I was sorry to hear of your casualty of war.

One more was destroyed during part 4 due to those nice little fireballs grrr
I will be sure to drink a Major Mnemonic in honor today.

To the Madborn 4: Great work in the shroud. Glad to see it was not only successful but also a enjoyable challenge. Thx for the post & pics.

Lag monster was horrible on me but fought through it!! Found out later it was my router taking one on me lol Was awesome had fun even when lagged for alot of it other than couple lil hits was smoother than some 12 man runs I have been on. Grats to all and awesome job from the healing to teamwork and have to love your guidies when they put up with a lag monster like I had!! Nice work from all and would do it again in a heartbeat in any raid with these guys with me or more like me with them!!:D
