The other night I was running the shroud and in part 2 I was asked if I could single pull the orthon from the middle since I was the only one who could sneak. I annouced that I have never pulled the lieutenants before but I was willing to try. Since there were no other volunteers I made the attempt. Well, I ended up pulling all of them (orthon, fire, knoll, orc) and caused a party wipe (running on elite didnt help...) I know you have to sneak and try to target the single boss but the orthon was on the far left of the group so it opened me up to the rest of them. How do you single pull these guys? It would be great to see a youtube demo but I was unable to find one.

1. What them
2. Watch your feet

Not a great strategy but an interesting mechanic to learn :)

Elite is often difficult because many players let their guard down and foolishly act like they can solo/duo those monsters. You did have a fairly easy list of enemies, however.

Anyway, to sneak pull them you first sneak up close to the bosses so that you trigger their activation script, then sneak away and let them spread out as much as they will on their own. Then you sneak back in and see which ones are on the outer edge. If the one you want to pull is in the middle of the group, then probably you should report to the leader you can't do it, and ask for another plan. (Or instead you do some other tricks to pull him, but that will take so long it's not worth it).

If your target is on the outside, you sneak up and let him hear you, which might be possible by changing your items so you have less of a Move Silently bonus, or you might have to throw daggers at the wall near him. He will move towards the sound looking for it, but not fully aggro, and you can lead him around the maze that way. If you accidently get two bosses searching for your sound, then sneak away and wait for them to give up, then repeat from a different approach angle.

Overall, trying to sneak-pull single bosses here isn't really worth the time. It's faster and easier to have a single tank (or rogue in the case of a fire elemental) attack each monster to aggro it, then either stand in place blocking or run back and forth kiting. That has 4 players holding separate boss aggro, and the other 8 are free to do whatever DPS and spells you need.

If you have a high hide (~45+), invisibility, and no Bezekira or Kobold you can just run into the one you want and run it out (providing you are capable of not running in the close visual arc of the other things).

This does not work for the lion.

Approach from the northwest in sneak mode
Move closer until they all activate (names go from yellow to red)
Backpedal towards the northwest until you can only see the devil/orthon
Continue backpedalling as far west as you can while still being able to see the devil/orthon (you eventually hit a wall and have to stop)
Turn off sneak
The orthon/devil will teleport directly to you and engage without the others being able to see
Run northwest. The other three lieutenants will never see you or the orthon/devil

I pull the Devil/Orthon most of the time I run it with about an 80% success rate. I don't do the sneak pull you guys are talking about. So this is what I do....

Pull from the north-west side of the map.

Near the middle there is a little opening where you can see 2 bosses to the east and the crystal up top.

I go up to the wall just north of the bad guys, so now just one wall is between me and the red named. Position yourself so all you see is the devil/orthon.

Now all I do is take short steps forward until I activate them and so the devil/orthon can see me and run back so the others don't see me.

That was really hard to explain and probably doesn't make any sense but I tried :D
