Wow.

That kill count is insane. How long did part 1 take?

This Whole Quest was quite the Marathon.

Part 1: 60 min
Part 2: 50 min
Part 3: 7 min
Part 4: 42 min
Part 5: 34 min

Just about 45 minutes of breaks between all 5 parts of the Raid.

It was a lot of fun and very intense for just about all of it. Part 2 was certainly the hardest part of the whole run with getting the timing right. Our pull in 2 was:

Cat/Earth/Gnoll/Kobold

Just an FYI, when cat and Kobold are together their regen rate is insane. And as we all know, the Gnoll just sucks. But here are some more screenies from my end.

Well I can say with 100% certainty that I didn't use any Major Mneumoincs. :D As for my resources I used 80 repair pots, 20 haste pots, and a few fire protection pots. So almost all of the resources were on Bunks end so /salute to him. That being said, that skeletal bastard in part 3 had my number.

One thing Shyv and I learned was the difficulty did not reflect equally on the reward. I pulled 1 Large Arrowhead and Shyv got the olde Double Large Bone.

Holy Schnikes Batman! Great job. I wont ask how many pots and scrolls you chowed.

48 Major Mnemonic Potions (I consumed 24 in part 4 and the other 24 was from part 1 & 2)
450 Reconstruct Scrolls
100 other scrolls (GH, TS, Sleetstorm, UWB :) )

Afraid to ask, but how many mana pots?

Yeah, this 2-Man Shroud kind of has something to do with my WTB Majors Thread. In case of us having to do many attempts to get a completions, that Market Thread was kind of a preemptive strike at possible withering supplies. I have still looking to purchase Major Mnemonics for other challenges on the board.

WOW. What a feat. Amazing.

To think I was trying to lead a shaky twelve-man through part 2 (and failing) that night.

I don't even grok how you did part 1. I assume shyver stood around chopping portals and bunk chugged pots and ran the bases finger portal keepers and trogs.. Part two must have taken some fancy footwork. did you have to kill the bosses more than once?. Part 3.. obviously you did all the puzzles, so one of you must have a rogue level or you used Knock.. Parts 4 & 5 are easy to see. spam reconstruct and reconstruct scrolls. That's easier to grasp than parts 1 & 2 in terms of imagining trying this.

Well Bunk could go into further details on what he was up to in part 1, but I know it involved a combination of Acid Fog & Cloud Kill. I don't think he used finger on anything but the rare portal keeper. I just went choppy chop on the portals killing Trogs as they popped at the portal I was working on. In the rare instance of a devil or orthon it was brought to me for a smack down.

In part 2 it involved a lot of coordination in getting all the boss's lifes down to even and then maintaining it so we could time it correctly. We did in fact single pull and kill the earth, cat, and gnoll a couple of times in order to see exactly how fast they walk back to the center so we could get the correct kill order to maximize the time Bunk had to get to the center. Even then it was a freakout moment in the last seconds as when Bunk broke the crystal he could see the gnolls ghost rounding the corner to the center and the cats ghost screaming down his back. Nothing like a little pressure. :D

In part 3 I got myself out of my room while Bunk got himself out of his. We broke the crystals to the center and then Bunk did the puzzles (knock) while I ran water.

Part 4 was a combo of scrolls and spell on me for healing and fire protection. We split the gnolls up and for the devils used fearsome to give us more time to prep for the gnolls and not have all 4 on us at once to help spread the damage taken out.

You guessed it in part 5. It was just a long fight at that point. After the first 4 parts, the 5th was very anti-climatic and somewhat boring. Well at least from my standpoint. :D

One follow up question, your honor - how many rounds did part 4 take?

One follow up question, your honor - how many rounds did part 4 take?

It took 13 rounds and 2 hits, so officialy 14. Which really goes to show the power of a bard. When we 3 manned this it took 9 rounds and a couple of swings, so officialy 10. The warchanter bard buffs and little extra ranged damage from his bow made a 4 rounds difference.

I know Shyv stated how we handled the quest from his POV, here is mine.

Part1: Cloudkill and Acidfog in key places on trogs. You would be surprised at how a well placed fog can take out 10-12 trogs at the cost of what 1 instadeath spell could do. I also was swinging the sword and greataxe at times. Occasionally I had to FoD/PK to keep up fast enough so devils/orthons didn't appear.
Note: I beat on portals a bit and kept Shyv Buffed as he called out for new Rage/Haste/ect.

Part2: Clearing was me CC/recon and Shyv killing the mobs. Like Shyv said, we pulled a few of the Red Names to confirm the speed at which thier ghost moved back toward the center. After that, we isolated the gnoll by killing him and pulling the other 3 as he walked back toward the middle. Worked the Cat/Kobold/Earth (lots of AF/FW) and then pulled the gnoll when they were preped. Shyv took the Gnoll down and then we finished them all off with Cat being last.
Note: I had the Cat aggro up till the end, so he started following me as I ran to the middle, but a good Acidfog or 2 will cure that issue and allowed Shyvir to take him out.

Part3: I solve all puzzles, Shyv runs water. We ran the last 2 waters together.
Note: The wall did show-up just as we were about to run the final 2 waters.

Part4: Tank/Cleric teamwork. It took 13 Full rounds and basically 2 hits on the Fiend in Round 14. We shared in the killing of Gnolls and then Shyvir Charged while I kept recon/firepro/ect. on him at all times.
Note: There was times when I wanted to melee or caster dps spells, but kept it simple and safe since after the 3rd round we saw that our stradegy was working.

Part5: After single pulling the 4 Named Bosses, basically you are looking at a 2:1 advantage. Which means the favor is on our side. Effectively using the south pools made it possible to not use a single mnemonic potion in part 5.
Note: Shyvir did some amazing dps from what I could tell and I even had SP at the end to throw a handful of spells and Harry myself.

VIDEO: Durracka from Inferus Sus suggested that I record and make a video of our 2-Man Completion. I just hope it came out as good as the videos he has done. Here it is posted on YouTube.

Why do I see a barbarian using a deathnip on Arraetrikos? Lol. Also why do I see a hit in the combat log only doing 130 points of damage on a crit? Lastly, why do I see a non-crit only doing 35 damage?

On another note,
Goodjob guys!

Heh heh, yeah that's a deathnip. :p I wasn't exactly completely tweaked when we gave this a go since we were actualy racing against a couple other guilds on the attempt. No bloodstone and I wanted seeker from some source and I had only, at the time, crafted one Mineral II so it was an OK fit.

As for the 130 crit, I will point out that we were on round 14 and my rages were LONG gone. :D And the 35 normal hit was the deathnip I'm sure, like I said, it was a race so I wasn't as 100% optimized as I could have been.

But in the end it got the job done!! :D

Yes, my time in DDO is drawing to a close and I've had to limit my play time in the past couple of months. In order to facilitate that decrease in time I had to limit my addiction.

The only way to do that was to eliminate the "itch" all together. So all of my characters were stripped down, parts were sold/auctioned off, and all that remains is Shyv.
