Hi all! My local group, who currently plays DDO as well as a few other MMORPG's, is planning to start up a PnP game with the Rules 4 edition. Some of our long distance friends from some of the other online games are interested in playing in this PnP game. The problem is finding the best way to get those out of town (and state for most) players into the game. We've discussed Skype and webcams, but has anyone had any experience with this already or knows of a good tool that we can use to help with the audio and visual challenges of playing, literally, in at least three locations?
Thanks for your help!

wizards of the coast plans to launch a digital tabletop for 4.0, which I believe to be in beta testing at the moment.
Not much help now, but in the future it could be a fantastic tool for you.

Use Fantasy Grounds II. We've used it over a year and It's awesome.
If you are serious about pnp across the net, http://www.fantasygrounds.com should be your first stop
Let me know how it works out

Thanks for the help! Fantasy Grounds looks promising as well as the digital desktop. Thanks again!

Yeah but 4E bites and there hasnt really been any news lately on the digital tabletop which has a lot of people thinking this feature is going the way of pc tools disk that came with the 3.0 books
There are several tools out there openrpg and something a buddy of mine got but it slips my mind for now, we tried using webcams for awhile to play 2nd edition as we had a buddy in germany and another in japan we used web metting software and it worked fine might even still be doing it if it wasnt for working out times for all invoved.

Neverwinter Nights could be useful for that. However, that's 3.5 based.

Don't say that.... I still have the Demo Char Creator in my Library - just for Nostalgia... wasn't anything else I could do with it :(
The Digi-Desktop would be awesome! Been a long time since I got to roll a Natural 20 w/ my Vorpal...
