Dual Shard problem - help!!!

Finally i've got all the itens to finish my kopesh craftting on tier 3.

I've got already tier 1 holy (p) ; tier 2 acid burst (e)

For tier 3 i've made one shard good blast (p) and other +4 AC (e) in order to have Aspect of mineral II, and the shards simply do not mix, i've made everything right, energy cell + shard (p) + shard (e), and the altar respond "failure" and consume on high energy cell, on total i've consumed 12 trying (tks to holy sword spell at least it cost me only cold iron kopeshes,spell points and depleted cells)

Does anyone knows why his shards do not combine? I've used the crafting excel made all itens correctly and it simply don't work...

unfortunately, the Good Blast shard is not useful for blending with a +4 insight AC shard. You have to use large ingredients to Craft both the Earth +4 AC, and positive +4 AC. Different types of shards don't mix.

You need EOE and +OE, your Good Blast +DE is not useful in this recipe.

only the focus can be different, the gem and essence must be the same.
also, you only get one effect on tier3 (in this case, the earth effect).

so, if you want acid blast, you must combine: Positive/Dominion/Material + Earth/Dominion/Material
if you want +4 insight AC, you must combine: Positive/Opposition/Ethereal + Earth/Opposition/Ethereal.
you cannot get both.

again: the earth effect will be applid, but the positive effect will not. in effect, the only reason to dual-shard items is for the special tier3 bonus effect (mineral II in this case).

Mineral II is Positive/Earth, but you need to Match the Essence and Gem for it to Combine. You also cannot get Good Blast AND +4AC. One \alwasy overides the other.

Well, what everyone else said. Tier III shards cannot be combined with different effects...i.e. you can't mix an Acid blast with a +heightened awareness...I think this is what you're looking for:

Holy
Acid Burst
Heightened Awareness 4
Aspect of Mineral: Stoneskin (2/rest)
Mineral: Keen/Impact, Transmuting, Slicing, +80 Durability, +8 Hardness


Tier 3, 2nd Shard (Large): Scales(3), Shrapnel(0), Arrowheads(2), Stones(3), Chains(2), Bones(2)
Ethereal: Devil Scales, Glowing Arrowhead, Length of Infernal Chain, Sulfurous Stone
Opposition: Gnawed Bone, Devil Scales, Length of Infernal Chain, Sulfurous Stone
Positive: Gnawed Bone, Devil Scales, Glowing Arrowhead, Sulfurous Stone

This will be your positive insight shard to mix with your earth insight shard.

Didn't put your first two tiers in there, as you've already made them:D
