View Full Version : Why is it that no one wants to group on this server

Have tried numerous times to get groups together for just about all quests, but no one seems to be available or they just don't want to help one another out. I just don't understand this, I have been on other servers and it seems that they are more friendly than on this one. Thx and have a nice day!!! :)

My questions would be:
1) What quests?
2) What guild are you in (if any)?
3) What time of day?
4) What, if anything, do you write in the LFM?
5) How, class-wise, are you building your group?

Also:
6) What lvl are you (certain lvl ranges are a ***** to find groups for?)
7) Could there be a reason people don't want to group with you, specifically? (not a troll question, we've all ****ed somebody off at some point)
8) Are you sending a polite tell first, or just a blind invite?
9) Do you have a few folks in your friends list? ( i know it doesn't work properly but you may know some names to look for when you are on)
I have to say that, in general, I do not have trouble finding groups at any level ( i have toons from lvl 1 to 16). Tell us more about your characters (lvl range, class) and your method for getting groups and maybe some people can offer some tips.

How did "*****" and "****" get filtered out but you got to say what you said? I call favoritism...

I think there's currently a bit of a total player lull going on due to end of summer, certain betas, as well as a few people sort of content bored and taking a break till Mod 8 or even the bigger bang mod 9 with the level cap increase.
BTW... as a rule, don't list "need guide" or "need help" in your LFM. Easier to ask other players as they get there for help... or if none of you know it.... maybe savor that NEW EXPERIENCE thing.
DO you get censored for saying **********? Whoa... you don't. Good to know for someday when I feel this place needs more Deadwood.

Come to Friendly Sarlona, where you can always get a group, unless you have a nonstandard build, or are level 8-11, or are trying to get a group at any time other than the standard prime times.

omg nothing infuriates me more on this game than joining someone's lfm that *doesn't* know the quest. if you need help, if you need a guide, for the love of ******* god DO put it in your lfm.

It's slow all over the place right now.
August is traditionally time to BBQ, enjoy the end of summer, get the kids back to school and spend time with your new room mates before you find out they've been stealing your clean underwear and eating the food you left in the fridge at which time you grow to loath their presence. There's prolly a lot of people taking breaks because of lack of new content as well.
It'll get going again in a month or two.
It happens on all servers from time to time just put up your own lfm and you proably get some bites. Myself I have slowed down my play due to school and increased time at work, tried of being around sick people all the time would rather play

To avoid the problem of having to find a group, I solo with an LFM up. If someone joins, GREAT. If no one joins, I'll use a lot of pots. :) Usually people join, and the people who are willing to join someone soloing tend to stick around for multiple quests. This is just my experience. Results may vary. :)

"non-standard" includes such gimped classes as ranger, rogue, fighter, palidan, monk...
only acceptable classes are sorc (unless you are human), bard (must be human), cleric (but not a battle cleric), and twf barbs.
All others go hang out in the detention center (harbor), until you delete and re-roll

/e slips behind gfunk and adds conentrated Turbo-Lax to all his potions and rations.
/e slinks quietly out of earshot at which point ... ROFLMAO !!!
Love to see Mr. Sorc walk thru an ELITE trap now that they are the kiss of death to most folks now.

...umm... you do realize that my above post was intended to be entirely sarcastic, representing some of the worst of the collective class prejudice's that are quite prevalent in the game??
besides, i don't use potions, thats what clerics are for

Ya, posting during off-peak, with a lvl 6 cleric(2)ranger(2)wiz(2) warforged named Xjkljay saying you need a guide to run the necropolis serie... ya, good luck.

I feel like Ghallanda is one big click in a way, it seems everyone knows a guy or they have run with this guy. You can get a reputation fast on Ghallanda. It just seems to me if your trying to apply for a group and your in the level range, your the right class, and you haven't built something totally off the wall, then there is something your did either to a couple of people or messed up and kept messing up when instruction was given with a couple of groups, and word gets around, so it maybe that you have a rep. following you.
However it also depends on what times you play, and who you know sometimes. I know a lot of groups I've been in we don't even put up an LFM, not because we don't want to meet new people, but we like to hang with those we know.
It's weird, a lot of times you can jump into a random group and other times the groups are happening behind the curtain.
How long have you been on Ghallanda?

Not even my level 14 cleric can find groups anymore. And he is the best build of my five clerics.
It's so bad on this server I am moving to Khyber.
So far it's much easier to group there. I'm only level 7, but I see the LFM is generally busier.
(Also, I notice there are more newbs and lame players, and the AH is cheaper for most things. Odd.)

No. If you need a guide, learn the quest.

It's probably that guild groups are more prevelent. definitely summer low too. time of day can hurt quests.
and most definitely don't put need guide or need help..cause your not gonna get it.
don't put up to whatever the group wants to do... choose specific quests. looting quests if all else fails.
