They did state that GenCon would be DDO focused and PAx would be LOTRO focused, and the GenCon party is all DDO people

No DDO, I'll give it a pass.
The one-or-the-other game idea at individual conventions is frankly ******** - but that's not my problem.

No thanks and can we keep the c rap games off our forums? Seriously ?Lotro? its a horrid game. Asheron's call isnt that game like 8 years old or something? No offence T but can we atleast keep it just our game on here? I know a bit catty but dude I tired of hearing about them on a forum dedicated to a game that is much better despite the company not wanting to back it as much. Maybe if they start sending the good devs from DDO to the west coast events we could steal some of there players.

I'll add to the general consensus so far....shouldn't this be in the LOTR forums rather than DDO?

Or is there something DDO related there?

 while PAX will be more lotro focused, ddo will be at the booth, and I'm aware we have west-coast ddo players *waves to you all*. We stole all our ddo people for gencon, can't have them all out of office for both cons *cracks the dev whip*

Sure, I'll show up. Though this will mean that I am implicitly supporting PAX, which can only lead to bad kharma (or bad traffic anyway).

Regardless, I'll show up.

Guess I missed that one, thanks for the clarification. Guess I ought to read more carefully before I shapeshift into a troll.

Patience heads up all community relations for all games, and marketroid is marketing for all games I believe as well.

I realize that Turbine may see fit to use it as a ploy to gain more LOTR players, but seriously, I haven't even played DDO in at least a month. All the hype for monks and they fall short of what they could be. Not only that, I still have to run the same lowbie quests, that I have already done at least a thousand times between all my toons, and still I have yet to see anything of significant newness.

If you all paid as much attention to DDO as you did your other "brands" you wouldn't be loosing player base to the consoles, which by the way is what I have been playing, and who wants to keep paying money to be in the same zones over and over, even if you added a simplre lowbie quest per week to break up monatony.

I am convinced that player input is only a minor element, especially if it is NOT what the devs want, and no matter what we voice will be censored in favor of making Turbine look good. Get some new content people, stop trying to sell me on LOTR and Asheron's Call 2, and for God's sake learn about old school gaming and what appealled to those players when you try and hype a game like DDO up.

If there are DDO people there to talk to then I might be interested... And I might be interested in dragging along my brother...

If there are DDO people. Or information concerning DDO Development.

Would you go to Jersey if you had a choice. I mean I live in Jersey and I don't want to go here :)

Drove into Seattle, saw many unwashed people with "clever" t-shirts, and suddenly remembered that PAX was in town.

Parked the car anyway and trotted down to Gameworks. Apparently they've redesigned the place and made the front half into a restaraunt. Who knew?

Went into Gameworks proper and up the stairs and that was all she wrote. Crazy packed zoo of wall-to-wall people.

I'm not a fan of emo twenty-somethings in general, but I might have stuck around if the there wasn't a line of 200 people waiting to get in (approx, I didn't count. But it was clearly in the 100-200 person range).

Glad to see that there is that much excitement for turbine (or free food). Disappointed that the private room was so tiny, but that's not really Turbine's fault. Obviously they were trying to capture the PAX crowd, and Gameworks is the geekiest place within walking distance, so it makes sense.

Next time just have the party at PAX, or for the love of god, at least remind people that this is essentially attached to PAX. Nobody likes fight traffic across 520 only to realize they've landed smack dab in the middle of a hygine experiment gone horribly wrong.
