Has anyone found a situational use for abundant step?

I lined up, Astepped and QP'd a kobald lol.....no one balked :( (Think I had to use 9 fingers just to do that)

I am very curious if anyone has traversed a chasm.......

Opens the door to VOD pretty easily by pressing all four side buttons by with one player.

Keensky uses it a lot in Shroud part 1 to hop from one side up top to the other side up top.

1. Horn of agility in the Crucible; careful, it bugs if you pick up the horn before the door closes :)

2. Bridge puzzle in Titan.

3. Shortcut to portal 3 from portal 2 in the Shroud; in general, gets you to portals faster.

4. More generally, use it to jump over warrior mobs to get to casters, keep them from casting ice storm/flame strike/etc on the rest of the party (just on you!)

5. Get to otherwise inaccessible mobs (gnolls on ledges in menechtauran desert, etc)

6. Can jump end bridge in VON 4.

There are more; it is a very useful ability, and IMHO makes up for many of the monks' shortcomings.

Yeah Abundant Step rocks! Devs - please make Ki regenerate in public areas so we can Abundant Step all round Stormreach!

Any class can do this with a good jump and haste and featherfall.

getting to casters in Coalencence(sp)

Also, its great for being a better Zerger, until you run out of gass and need to fill up and your party is no where in sight to give you a hand with all the agro you have collected:D

All great ideas! Thanks for sharing.

I found another, in PVP in the Lobster. You can leap straight across the pit to meet your friendly caster :) Freaks them out the first time :) Before attacking, wait a brief sec and stand there so they can register what just happened (not too long though) heh

Not so much a bug. It is just that picking up the horn of agility triggers the door to re-open. But if it does happen, you can always ddoor to start.

Yea, I'll cast Ddoor on my...monk.

If you're in the room with the horn and the door is shut you can also have a party member pull the lever again.

Yea, I'll cast Ddoor on my...monk.the irony is in how the PnP version of Abundant Step (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/monk.htm#abundantStep) works ;)

of course, DDoor operates differently in PnP too, but i reserve the right to be entertained by your comment! :)

That's how I fixed it when it happened :)

But it's still a little freaky when you grab the horn and find yourself locked in a room with lots of sharp pieces of metal whirling around.

That really never bothered me very much. Until it happened on elite.... I made it out ok (barely) but I was very glad nobody else was in the room with me to see the mess I made.
