"Hey!! I solo'd Reaver naked, with masterwork weapons AND one hand tied behind my back...in 5 minutes on ELITE !!!! UBER PWNAGE!!! I ROCK!!!!!!"
Whoop de do.
So you are the best twitching gamer fool out there. congrats. yay. start the party.
THIS is what me and the hubby did, and it didn't even matter the level of the toons (well kinda, HAD to get through the quest to this point) or the gear they have (wellllll...they had to have a decent seach even then twitching would help) OR what difficulty (ok, ok, see last set of () )
It took brains. Trust me, we looked for a cheat sheet on the forums, no joy. THis was all 100% us. Ok, 40% the hubby and 60% me. Cuz I'm smarter. (is he reading this? shhhh!) And my stupid multiclass cleric is built good enough for this. That's all.
...
You want to know what we did? Ghost of CHance Stupid puzzle room of hell!!! I may not be able to jump that dumb ladder thing-ee In rackum's Trial, but by all that is holy I sure did figure this stupid brain buster out. I took an hour and a half and a scary moment of nearly electrocuting the poor idiot to his brother cuz dispite finding ALL THE OTHER TRAPPED TILES, THERE WAS ONE THAT HAD A SEARCH WORTHY OF CABAL!!!!!!!!!
I mean, my clogue pratically has x-ray vision, andthe hubby's ranger wasn't a slouch either. We knew it was there, but couldn't find it. Like the trapmakers had one left over trap from theinfamous Gianthold quest (trap) and said "Hey, let's screw with the lower level people who think they are so hot!! teach them a lesson for not playing pure rogue!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAQAAAAA!!!!!111!!!"
Jerks.
Hate them all.
Anyhoo, you guys always want proof, well here's your proof. If you don't like it, tough. It's just nice to have an C A S U A L gamer to have an legitimate achievemnt for once.

Nice work DWF!! (I love that puzzle, btw :D) I think I was in there for about 90 min or so my first time too. Got me hooked and I wasn't gonna quit 'til I solved it, even tho I had the key in my pocket.
Now see if you can remember it. Go back in on elite and see how fast you can solve it w/o hurting him once. (It's easier than you might think, once you know the solution. ;))

Grats! I still haven't got that puzzle. It literally causes headaches for me. :(
Nice. I know from personal experience that figuring that one out from scratch is no piece of cake.
I ran this quest (on Solo) with my soloist, and it was only the second time I'd ever been in that room (and the first time I was there [not with my soloist, with another character in a group] we had a person who knew it already, so I didn't learn anything).
Being in there alone with no clue on what to do was pretty daunting. I managed to zap the poor guy more than once, but in the end, I preservered. Took about an hour, hour and a half.
I don't know about you, but I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get power to the left side of the room, heh. I won't give out spoilers, but when I finally got it, I smacked myself in the head, "D'oh!"
Now that we've done it once, we'll always know the basic solution. Too bad we can't unlearn that knowledge so that thrill of discovery is always there :)

Congrats! That is Awesome!
I got so mad at it; cause I didn't have time to spend on it;
That I just said the heck with it and used the Key. :o
But,
I still have to Go through that with "Penny"
and my other characters though, so
I think I will Block out a good two-Three Hours so I can
Kill an hour or two on the puzzle...:D

Yes, it was a Homer Simpson moment for me, also. What an idiot we were, cuz that was at the hour mark. After that, it was easy peasy. Memorized? no, but that d'oh moment won't show up again. Need to try that on elite to see how many zaps it take to get to the center of a toots...er kill the dude.
And there are some discoveries I'd like to leave in the past. This is one. Next acheivment to work on: THe **** Ladders in Rackum's Trial. I refuse to have my hubby play my toon for that , instead hang around in the trapped room waiting on him to open the door. I have like zero twtich skills.

tried that, didn't work. Then again, I used to drown all the time and jumping was bad, too.

A few basics for those who may need them...
A Feather fall item is Nice on the ladders;
but I would not say it is a must.
Sometimes it can Actually get in the way...
But I will say...
Have it "hot" keyed... "JUST in case."
The treat it like another SuperMario, Ratchet and Clank, or Jack and Daxter on Cr*** event.
One Trick is to Always be higher than the Ladder you are jumping to..
and, Look directly At the ladder you are Jumping to... before you jump;
This way when you jump You should spin to land on the ladder...
I won't say this is the is the "Ultimate" solution...But it worked for me.
Hope it helps...:)

I probably suck more at it and could have an entire guild back up that claim....
Was a memorable moment when I first made it to the top of Coalesence Chamber...sigh.
Somehow I actually beat someone up to the top last time. (Of course I think it was their first time and my nth run....)

Mouse Look is a great friend.. I took probaly close to an hour doing it with a guildy, then I checked forums and they were mentioning Mouse look.. now I can complete the whole quest in about 30 minutes.. turn on mouse look when you are climbing, climb to top of ladder, move mouse so you are looking at the ladder you want to land on, jump and run forward, you should land on the ladder you are looking at..

ditto mouselook. those ladders drove me batty until one of the members in the party who always plays in mouselook just zipped right by me. After that, it's not fast if you aren't dexterous (I am not), but it's doable.
