Why do we have to spend an hour in the Orchard and go through multiple waves with approx. 15-20 minutes between waves to complete the Rat Hill? What happened to the immediate get it done and go to other slayers instead of having to wait and go back all the time? Am I the only one extremely frustrated with this logic?

Thanks

Some mobs (including the carcus eaters you are referring to) will not spawn in persistant AoE, which is a known issue listed for Mod7.

To kill the carcass eaters faster, and get your chest, I recommend casting any AoE at the bottom of the hill, and running up to draw them down to the AoE. Make sure you aren't wearing fearsome as tracking them down can be a pain. It takes about 1 minute longer with that workaround vs. the old method of standing on them in a fiery inferno of stacked firewalls.

As it is listed as a known issue it should be fixed eventually. There are other mobs that won't spawn in persistant AoE and then become immune to fire upon contact with a firewall. Not sure when they will be fixing it.

What he said.

I finally got a caster high enough to hit the Orchard, and when we got to the hill I promptly laid down a nice, hot firewall...then I promptly heard groans and complaints. (Hey, that's how casters USED to do it! :) )

As mentioned, throwing AoEs like Firewall at the bottom of the hill (kinda between the two hills) works good. We only spent a minute or so there.

oh...wow...thats HEAPS better than my previous idea of, "what? no aoe? well, lets mm them ALL to death..."

That took a while...:o

Blade Barrier works fine on the hill without bugging.

The AoE at the bottom of the hill works, but also make sure the person pulling them down doen't have fearsome armor either.

I just Stoneskin up, haste and go in swinging with my Weakening/Enfeebling Bastard Sword.
:D
If you don't move after a wave is finished, you can heal up if needed without them spawning.

At least that's how I do it...
