Here's what you do:

Get a rapier; get a heavy Pick; enter a quest; go nuts.
Maybe get some friends together to run TR and have them tank while you test and see how fast the yellow zeros take to come using the different weapons against Whisperdoom.

Weight isn't an issue, its just game quirks. Greataxes are faster than greatswords are faster than falchions. Just quirks.

r-a-p-i-EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-r

And as far as I can tell, both swing at the same rate.

A ways back they adjusted weapon speeds based on type. Its a small difference as far as I could tell. I asked for a post at the time with the details but didn't get it. So my answer is yes but I wouldn't worry about it.

One thing I think turbine could improve on is answering questions about the machanics about the game. There should be a deticated link where I can say addminstator what is the % difference in attack speed of a rapior vs a Heavy pick and get a responce in an hour

I guess that "Damage per second" is actually on each weapon, so you dont really need to know how many swings you get. Just look at the two weapons, and choose which dps you would rather have ;)

Battlelord
