Hey guys i just got my new computer, whenever i download ddo, it says you cant access this program with a administrative account, please switch to a standard account...which im on my standard account, i allowed ddo, i allowed downloads and still it says that. any suggestions?

It says run as administrator, how do i change to to run as a standard user?

I'd assume this is a windows comp...XP?

Restart, hold F8 to run in safe mode. If you have a password, you should notice "administrator" as one of the choices on the sign in screen along with your account. Go into administrator and I think its under the Control Panel as Set Program Access and Defaults.

Vista acts quite a bit differently than XP with DDO

Vista is very annoying and takes a while to get used to, it downloaded correctly, for some reason i clicked save to desktop and it saved the game into games folder lol, i clicked it and it was working, dont know what wouldnt install but its working now

Vista vs Xp is obvious it is also quite possible to run D&DO with a MAC. It's actually the first question that should be asked here. Furthermore configuring software to run properly is quite different depending on this question. Windows is not Windows.

You are running Windows Vista obviously. Go to your program files, right click on the DDO launcher and select properties. Go to compatibility tab and de-select privilege status "Run Program as Administrator." Click apply and you should be set. If that fails, try setting the game to run in compatibility with Windows XP.

That may be true. Running as an administrator vs. a regular user on XP is probably different from running on Vista. But as for Linux/Mac OS, if it's running in an emulator, the game is running under some version of Windows.
