Hello,

I posted this in Sarlona's Marketplace, because I was also interested in acquiring the items I'll be discussing, but I figured I'd post here in General too since I'm also looking for information.

I currently have a Cursespewing Rapier of Slowburst on my Tempest Ranger. I'm trying to figure out what the best match for this Rapier would be. I've thought of:

1. A Crippling Rapier of Tendon Slice at 10%.
If my thinking is correct, it's theoretically possible to have +4 on such a rapier through race-restriction (meaning it would normally be min. level 18, but only level 16 with a race-restriction).

2. A Bodyfeeder Rapier of Tendon Slice at 10%.
I have no idea what the maximum +modifier could be for such a weapon, so if anyone could provide the info, that'd be great.

and

3. A Strength Sapping Rapier of Tendon Slice at 10%.
Again, I'm not sure what the max +modifier would be, so if anyone knows this, that'd be great too.

Any thoughts on which of the above Rapiers would be the best match? Are Crippling, Hamstring (Tendon Slice), Slowburst, and Fatigue (Strength Sapping) stackable? What would be the overall loss in movement for the enemy? And also, can anyone shed light on what the maximum modifiers would be for these Rapiers?

Thanks in advance!

Cursespewing goes great with parlayzing from my experineces.
Another idea would be weaking of enfeebling, that would lower their damage output as you hit, eventually leaving them autocrit and helpless.

weakening of puncturing (assuming your loot table is like mine and doesn't include Wounding of Puncturing) :)

Hi,

Thanks for the responses so far. I do have a Paralyzer that I've been using in conjunction with the Cursespewer. But -- and this might sound odd -- I actually don't like to use the Paralyzer because it sort of defeats the purpose of the Slowburst. That's why I was thinking along the lines of further debuffs that might stack, like Crippling, Hamstring, and Strength Sapping (or getting a beneficial effect like Bodyfeeder).

Also, I didn't want to include stat damagers in the discussion since they would obviously trump everything. I do have a Weakening Enfeebling set that I use, as well as Puncturing (alas, no Wounding since, apparently, I have done something to offend the loot gods). But I wanted to go for more of a flavor feel to the debuffing. And when I want to concentrate on kills, anyways, I usually just dual-Vorpal.

Thanks,
Ngorongoro

I like crippling of destruction and cursespweing of enfeebling. Very party friendly combinations. Tendon slice 10% is also a pretty nice effect especially if it came in the form of a crippling rapier of tendon slice (10%).

i guess some of the best would include the double whammy...possibly of the same type too.

Weakening/enfeebling
Crippling/slowburst - absolutely amazing weapon.
Wounding/puncture
bonebreaking/maladroit

And of course cool stuff like

Destruction/sunder (forgot the suffix for sunder attempts)
Curse/paralyzer

of course you can take the first of the double whammy for a stat item and hope for a curse, paralyzer, etc too.

You just want something really good for the crit...and something that affects the mob for the non crit.

A lot of my fighters have something along with those above, though not perfectly made...

Lke a mix of each, so dual weilding still gets 4 cool things. As much as I like the sound of using my wounding/puncturing short sword, I personally feel my puncturing rapier is much better in the end due to increased crit.

Well, typically on my rogue I have in one hand my Paralyzing Rapier and in my other hand, I have my +1 Cursespewing Dagger of Destruction.... would absolutely love a Crippling of Slowburst or something to that effect in place of the paralyzer, to just simply debuff the heck out of everything (kept Crippling Strike, so that covers my Str damage.. until I pair a set of Weakening of Enfeebling piercing weaps *drools*)

My little combo works for me!

I like Cursespewing Shattermantle in one hand
and Crippling of Destruction in the other

or something like that I have the first not sure but thought I'd had the second

I also on a lower level character found Cursespewing in one hand and Strength Sapping in the other to be particularly effective
