So I just received my latest issue of OXM, which if you don't know is the magazine for the Xbox 360, and found a small, possibly interesting, article. In the article it mentions Turbine having plans to bring ddo to the 360 community.

Here's where the conspiracy and hush hush business comes in. What do you think is up with the recent renovations of the harbor, for new players perhaps? Also we've been told that Turbine was hiring some more employees; said article mentions hiring 100 or so with 60 already hired.

Just a few interesting tid bits to think about. If it's true we could be seeing a surge in population.

Didn't someone find a Turbine job posting a month or so ago that implied a DDO port to console?

Yes. But was not DDO specific, iirc DDO was not even mentioned in the posting.

Not only do the article and the job posting not mention DDO, I seem to recall the Turbine going so far as to say that they have no plans for porting an existing game over to console, instead launching a new game on the console.

Thats right. Its gonna be called DDO-X. The similarity is pure coincedence. Its a medieval action MMO set in a city called... Storkreach. But theres housing... and trebuchets... ;)

dunno what the real story with it is, but i know awhile back, everquest came out with an EQ for ps2, but it was seperate from teh mmo. it was still online play, but different storylines, different gameplay, different servers and everything. think it was called everquest online adventurers or something like that.

In the first couple ones that were found that was true. For a week or so we found info of a Turbine Console MMO and postings for DDO jobs but nothing linking the two together. However, a posting WAS found for a DDO position that listed console experience as a prereq or a plus (don't remember what the thread was called :()

Edit: I found the thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=152212

Also, the dev team has been really focusing on adding and changing low level content (adding areas, quests, new harbor etc...). Clearly this is a move to retain more of the people that try the game out and never reach higher levels, what better way to get a rush of players trying the game than to re-release it (hence getting it back on shelves like we were told).

There's no question that Turbine is heading to consoles. The big "what" still remains in terms of what game or games it'll be.
