Preface:
I have been playing DDO since beta and decided to do one of these build type posts. I have leveled two characters to 14 then took a break - Sorceror and TWF Drow fighter. I realize that that fighter probably wont be able to do much in the endgame (41 AC or so standing) and decided to try an Intimidate tank.
I have poured over Riott's Intimitank and Borror's Dwarven Defender threads.
Clearly, I will not be able to make one as good as they have but why not see what I can do.
I have chosen to pick Halfling as the race.. mainly because I have a +5 MFP (Halfling RR).
Now, I sent a few emails to Borror and he suggested that I just play a Dwarf and UMD the armor but why not try something new? :)
The build:
Fansie Famous will be a Lawful Good Halfling 14 Fighter/2 Paladin. (maybe 12F/2P/2R)

Leveling Notes
Google Docs Spreadsheet - Follow my progress - Fansie's Doc (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pLGv4mcyset1a3BXYyt9yRQ)
I just started him out and got to nearly level 3 but haven't leveled him up yet.
Does fairly well but I tried to do Bonebite on Hard and the Orge just killed me. I started to run Goodblades N/H/E.
Final Notes
So far, so good. Haven't decided to take the Rogue levels yet or not but I am going to get the Paladin levels out of the way on next two levels.

Hey man, I have a 11Fighter/3Pally/2rogue Halfy intimitank. I'm 54 intimidate with greater hero and no shroud item. The size penalty just really upsets me. It's enough to hit reaver and any non raid bosses on a 1, but Im really bummed about the -8 on Sulo endgame and not hitting him on a 1 where I could with another race :( . Just something to think about there if thats important to you. I'll make do with a +6 cha skill shroud item but, if I had to do it over with an intimitank, I'd go dwarf.
Also, your starting dex of 15 puts you at 24 if you consider the halfling dex enhancements. If you wanted to save some stat points you could go lower and still max the dex bonus in +5 MFP with maxed fighters armor mastery...consider too you may get a +2 or even +3 dex tome. But as is you are set up great to take full advantage of +5 Mith BP should you ever go rogue.
I think this is a very smart build to run in any case.

what do you mean about the size penalty? for carrying or is there another penalty
Im really bummed about the -8 on Sulo endgame
what does this mean? Sorry, I took a break after a month after the abbot came out and just came back

Halflings are considered small creatures. Humans/dwarves/elves/warforged are considered medium creatures. Trying to indimidate something that is one class size larger than yourself results in an automatic -4 penalty to the intimidation check. So for example, if a human is trying to intimidate another human (say some boss at the end of a dungeon), whatever his intimidate skill is listed as in his skill tab, that's what gets added to his d20 roll for intimidate. A halfling would automatically be a 4 less, due to the one class size difference. Now if a human is trying to intimidate a large class size creature, he's at a -4 penalty, while the halfling is at -8 (since it's two class sizes different). Make sense?

Sulu is the raid boss in one of the two newest raids added with Mod 7. His raid is called Vision of Destruction (abbreviated on these forums and in LFMs as VOD), lvl 18 raid, located under the marketplace. He's a large creature, so humans/dwarves/etc are at -4 to intimidate him, while halflings are at -8 to intimidate him.
Fansie Famous will be a Lawful Good Dwarven 14 Fighter/2 Paladin.
With halfling abilities?? LoL SEE I TOLD YOU ALL!!!! They're just Fat halflings!!

I wouldn't make a true ac intimidate tank in DDO that didn't have evasion. I just wouldn't...

Well there are different techniques to use... Notice if you tank directly in front of Sulo he does a lot more melee attacks (better for non-evasion intimitank), if you tumble back a step every couple seconds, he will throw a lot more AoE and less melee (better for the evasion intimitank). Thats just one example but it can work in many situations.
I agree though evasion, a high DR shield, and a high AC is **** near invincibility.

make a lot of sense... I never really played PnP DnD and is this fact listed anywhere in DDO? I was unaware of this.

So what does a non evasion intimitank have that is superior to an evasion one? The totally awesome level 13 and/or 14 fighter level. There is also the side benefits the of two non fighter levels - monk gets 2 feats and their wisdom bonus to ac and rogue gets 8 skill points a level and umd..

Not sure that it's listed explicitly anywhere in DDO literature (of course that's not saying much, lots isn't listed that probably should be), but you can often count on the d20srd for rules. Here's (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/intimidate.htm) the listing for intimidate. Note the first line under "Special".

Nothing really at this point. A couple more ac, a feat, and a little more purity of class in case high level fighter enhancements or feats ever pop up.

That's part of why I told him to just go dwarf.

Yes, I agree with that. You could lower your Dex and get more Str, or Con. Just play with your end game enhancements.

Yes, they FINALLY updated the tooltip for Intimidate last module for that. I actually warned you about that.
Now, they only need to take car of the 376374673 spells and feats with incomplete descriptions. :)

Well, outside from the in-game tooltip, there is the wiki (http://ddo.enterwiki.net/page/Intimidate).

wasn't sure what you meant.. :) anyways, at most.. it will be a few weeks out of my life if it doesn't work out like I like it. that is the great thing about this game... don't like something? start over!
I haven't eaten any +2 tomes (not like, I have any) and the +1 tomes are cheap on the AH now.

Yeah, that's more the idea there...
Borro, I would be mightily surprised if the prestige classes part II occurred at a higher level then 16 so 4 splash levels seems like a good move when the cap is 20. They have also claimed that they want to raise the cap to 20 by the end of the year so the guess is they are going to cap it up soon. So if the OP misses out in Mod8 then by mod 9 he should be o.k. This is all guesses because they could just have a level 12 tier II mini prestige class like way of the assassin II.. All I know is 2 levels of whatever evasion is better then level 13 and level 14 fighter right now...

I don't disagree with that.
With game resists and prot availibility, I still think evasion is overrated by many.
(I do have it on my rogue/wiz and my halfling hurler, so I know it's benefit)
I don't have it on Riott, and I don't miss it.
Now Improved Evasion is a different story. But that's not easily accessable.
