Hey all,
I have a level 12 human cleric that needs help. He's an ok build, I'm pretty much just going for the standard healer/buffer kind. I'm up to date on most missions and gear, but find myself at an utter loss as to what to get to help my cleric along.
Can anyone well versed in playing a cleric let me know what kind of gear I should be looking for? Any specific raid loot that should be 'required' for clerics?
Pre-emptive thanks!

nothing is 'reauired' but there a few useful pieces
Greenblade from DQ is nice if you BB or cast other damage spells as there really isn't anything else besides the dragon robe that will help get your crits up beyond the enhance lines
Gauntlets of Eternity from Reaver is great for a healer
find yourself a Devotion scpetre for now as i think Potency is lvl 13, that will help with your healing
i don't even have the greenblade yet but my cleric functions fine with just that
there is a nice set from either the Hound or Vision i believe for Clerics but you're a ways off from that yet
it's not raid loot but consider trying to find a Skiver(will be **** expensive to buy) which comes from the Tome pages in Litany or a Wiz6 to Wiz7 item for etxtra SP if you need them
not sure what the levels on all those are but i think Skiver is 11 the Wiz items i assume are 12-14 or 15

Every up-and-coming cleric needs a potency item 6 or 7, wiz +6, & a Paralyzer weapon, even if you don't fight. That's been my experience anyways. The "Tenderizer" from the Reaver is also a good Club to carry around if you fight a bit.
There are other useful items, but those are what I depend on most, and I play a cleric, a lot...

Bah! I have cloudburst...and no prof. in Greatswords!:p
Seriously, A WIS +6 (or 5 if at an odd number) WIZardy item, highest that you can get. If you can get the Gauntlet of Eternity from the Reaver raid, they are sweet! If you are DV person, CHA items are good. Profeincy items are ok, but worry about other stuff first. Weapons are your choice, I don't have a paraylser on any of my clerics but I can see thatwould be good.

The best concentration of cleric raid gear is in the Demon Queen raid:
Torc: Wizardry 3, Greater spell pen 5 necklace. Chance to gain spellpoints when hit.
Belt Buckle: +4 str, +4 con, immune to fear belt. Debuffs attackers and damages them when hit.
Bramble Casters: DR 10 vs. piercing. Damages attackers when hit.
Pouch of Jerky: Greater false life trinket with a semi-good clickie (really good for non-clerics).
Greenblade: Kukri with greater arcane lore and force burst (average weapon).
Seal of Earth: Ring with +3 natural armor and 3 stoneskin clickies.
Demon Bracers: Debuffs attackers when hit, but annoying chance of getting a negative level when hit.
Marilith Chain: Armor with DR 5 / law or good and seeker 6. Sadly, devils bypass the DR.
No other raid even comes close to this much "cleric" gear. Add a superior potency 6 item, and you are good to go.
Happy Hunting.

I wear none of this gear anymore and don't plan to ever go back to dq. I do have the torc and the belt buckle but no longer wear them. There is no reason for a cleric to ever step foot in that raid. The gear in the Reaver, Hound, and VOD are better in addition to the skyver or blue dragon scale armor, and shroud raid gear. No cleric really has a reason to do any of the old pre mod 4 raids maybe the boots from titan or perhaps dragon boots (cleric can cast fom though). I suppose battle clerics may like the titan belt and clerics with umd might like the titan gloves but kind of reaching there.
Best Cleric Gear:
Head: Minos Helm (Tapestries Orchard)
Necklace: Hound Raid Necklace +6 wis and empower healing enhancements
Armor: Blue dragonplate armor (made from blue dragon scales found in Gianthold Tor)
Weapon 1: Superior potency 6 weapon or shield (regular loot)
Weapon 2: Shroud crafted weapon with exceptional wisdom +3 on it/Hound Raid shield/healing scrolls.
Gloves: Reaver Raid Gloves or Gloves from Vision of Destruction Raid
Bracers: Bracers from Vision of Destruction Raid
Belt: Belt of Brute Strength from Titan Raid
Goggles: Shroud crafted spell point and umd item
Ring 1: Con +6 (regular loot)
Ring 2: Resistance +4 (regular loot - it is possible to get a +5 rr resistance ring)
Trinket: Head of Good Fortune from Reaver Raid
Boots: Gyrscopic Boots from Titan Raid
Cloak: Reaver Raid Cloak with +1 dc to all spells.
Although I listed Titan raid loot on this list neither of the two items are truly that important to clerics (the boots are 30% striders with 10 balance which can be replaced by 30% striders and the belt of brute strength is +6 str and greater false life which can be replaced by just a greater false life belt). It is also possibly a good idea to fit in a shroud hit point item instead of one of the raid loot listed depending on what feats you have or if you mind going down 1 in your saves, etc. The most important raids for a cleric are the shroud, reaver, hound and VOD.

arguably a potency6 with greenblade has it's place in a clerics arsenal but the blue scale does the same as a greenblade and fits a better slot
most people would agree for those of us with semi-limited bank accounts and non-power gamers the blade is easier to get though.... i agree though, i do wonder if i should ever run DQ or Titan again with my cleric, even though i have a total of 3 completions
until you get that Hound necklace though i find the helmet from VON is a winner - slap a great fort else where for a few levels if you can't fit a WIS +6 elsewhere
pretty well summed up though and if you can work out all your items properly the Hound and VOD loot combine for some nice clericing effects
hard to fit it all in to get the bonuses but plenty nice if you can
i run with half of that though and i still do fine so OP: use that all of these posts as opinion pieces and work with what you can get/afford to fit your playstyle but generally this is pretty much an optimum here

I really find it funny everyone relies on teh minos legen helm for every build they make now....

I would add a greater potency VII item to your list. This will help with your L7 mass heals. It helps to have additional mass heals to cycle through that are boosted. I rarely swap this item, as it yields better than the 10% it gives up to a superior VI for the way I play. It also helps a bit with L7 damage spells, and you don't have to think about swapping it out.
Another item not on the lists above that is useful is fearsome full plate. I run with a set of +5 adamantine fearsome full plate of stability. You want things that hit you to go away.

You can't beat 16 free hit points at this point in the game. Only one of my characters doesn't have the minos helm and that is my healing/cc bard who doesn't try to get aggro and can heal herself at will. I do agree that the minos helm has probably passed its apex for usefulness since other items give you heavy fort like the mineral II item and full plate from VOD and 16 hit points are not worth quite as much as it used to so hence is starting to become a swap slot for some of my characters - for instance my dwarven fighter who has alot of hp will throw on his fear immunity there and will eventually use more things in that slot.

Just cause I've been playing with my clerics eq list recently what about changing the following
Best Cleric Gear:
Head: shroud hp mineral 2 helm
Necklace: Hound Raid Necklace +6 wis and empower healing enhancements
Armor: Blue dragonplate armor (made from blue dragon scales found in Gianthold Tor)
Weapon 1: Superior potency 6 weapon or shield (regular loot)

Ring 2: ring of thelis or stride 30 ring
Trinket: Head of Good Fortune from Reaver Raid
Boots: Boots of the innocent
Cloak: Reaver Raid Cloak with +1 dc to all spells. I would also hot swap a chr +6 cloak here
Also does anyone know if the extend enhancement on skiver and the glacial gloves stack?
With this configuration I may also end up ditching the bracers and opting for shroud opposition bracers.

Since you phrased this as a question I will give a response. I like the concept of fitting in the shroud hit point item on there my personal preference would be both minos helm and shroud hit point item - it is unclear what would be the best type of double tier II hit point I would make. I would have to have 30% striders on at all times somewhere on my cleric...

Interesting how nearly all high level Clerics end up with the same gear. Bloucross is set up very similar to the above.
Main differences are that I swapped the Head of Good Fortune for Dusk Heart (more HP and 10% blur) and I swear by
my haste boots (25% stride with 3 Haste clickies). Those haste clickies have just saved myself, and the party, too
many times.

My changes from this would be:
1.) No Resistance item... Cast nightshield instead (+3 to resist and immune to mm). Frees a ring slot
2.) Craft Neg/Pos goggles for wis +6, frees up your neck slot.
3.) Trinket can be pretty much anything you find that you like... dream of the Abbot trinket
4.) Craft cha +6 on your exceptional wisdom item.
Given freed slots
1.) Con +6 necklace... easier to find than ring. Frees another ring slot for...
2.) Ring from Hound (wiz VII, improved empower and sr22).
3.) And swp the other ring slot utility rings (dex, ff, uw action, etc)

basically i agree with all the previous posts, if u r more of a casual gamer then obtaining some of the items mentioned may become a little difficult. i would suggest (this is only my opinion and yes we all have our own) that you ensure you have a grtr potency7 (sup pot6 works almost as well for healing but better for dmg spells) 1h weapon both drop fairly regularly in the vale, vale quests and shroud and the gloves from Reaver if you're interested in mainly healing, also ensure you are speced in your enhancments through the full healing (positive) tree. for dmg obtaining a grtr arcane law item (blue dragon scale, green blade or skiver) and a potency item works the best. Minos Legens or another heavy fort item is basically essiental, and try to max your con as much as possible as well.

my cleric has a wiz 6 helm and a sup potency item thats it really.
recently I dropped my AC from 38 to 33 for better charisma and DR 5 vs bunt/pierce weapons.
wizards and clerics dont need much as long as you focus on what they are good at and dont try to be everything.
I still mix it up in melee when stuff comes at me and is not worth a spell..... but thats rare.
