This is my attempt to make a character like wulfgar from R.A. Salvatores books. As this is my first build i am not sure of the viability and all constructive criticism is welcomed.

As for equipment he will most likely be wearing fearsome armor to cause enemys to flee from him and a powerful maul other then that any suggestions are helpful because i know just about nothing of the raid loot available

Drop one of the Toughnesses, pick up Power Attack.

At end game, you'll easily be hitting 44+ Str while raged. A Raging Barbarian without Power Attack is just pointless with the kind of gear we can get.

I'd also drop that sprint boost for crit rage 2.

Nah, just Tundra Lore and Sprint 3. Crit Rage 2 is only 4 AP, after all.

coltsrock, maybe try something like:

Only needs a +1 Str tome thanks to Human Adaptability, ends up with the same Str, or 2 points higher if you can get a +3 Str tome out of one of the raids.

I went with Iron Will over Luck of Heroes because Will is going to be, generally, your weaker save in terms of game abilities. While Raged you do have a possibility for a tremendous Will Save, but Greater Command sucks the big one.

Reflex is important, but without Evasion you're still going to be taking half-damage on a lot of things. Your main line of defense in that regard is going to be your HP, Resist Energy and Protect from Energy.

Still using mauls as per the original build, have a good Intimidate to bring all foes around you for better splash damage, good Jump, decent Spot, Tumble and Balance.

Basically, standard Human Barb build with mauls rather than greataxes.

Drop the fearsome armor.Running after **** so you can kill it will get annoying real quick.

I like your theme based character as well.I myself made my own Drizzt build and suprisingly he turned out bad ass.Well good luck to ya!
edit:Takeing iron will on a barb is almost pointless in mho.If you cant acheive a 20 or better will save as a barb raged then theres something wrong.Sure its only when your raged when your will is reall good but when is a barb not raged?Iron will would be a waste of a feat.Just my two cents :)

I really just took the tundra lore to fit into the character because he lives in the tundra for most of his life so that was my theory for taking it. Same with the fearsome armor because in the books most of the tmies the enemys just get scared and run away:p

It's a pretty standard build that should work, although you'll be slightly less effective than the typical greataxe user (unless you manage to find good mauls, but they are rarer than axes).

I think Wulgar had fighter levels btw. He trained with Drizzt for a while and Bruenor.

I would put him at 12 Barb / 4 Fighter

Yeh do remember Wulfgar spent a great deal of time with Drizzt, Bruenor, Cattie-Brie, and the whole gang, he probably picked up alot from them. Try and reflect that.

Pretty good job though.

It's actually listed as a +3 Dwarven Thrower Maul I believe.

eh, i dont think tsr can make up there minds about things and their stats. ive seen drizzt as a few differnt builds, ive seen a few different builds of wulfgar, catti brie, and bruener. the dnd encyclopidia of magica lists aegis fang as a war hammer.

/shrug.

not that it matters, i just thought that, since i was under the impression that it was a war hammer, and the op was looking for original flair, that he would want to give his build a warhammer instead. but yer right. along with different definitions, hes just as likely to use a maul as he is a light hammer or warhammer.

Well in the book it states that he uses a two handed war hammer so i just went with a maul
