Just tested quivering palm with both deathward (spell) and deathblock (item). Both blocked the effect.
I agree that deathward (spell) should, but I'm not sure deathblock (item) should - because quivering palm is not a 'death spell or magical death effect'.

There is no reason for deathward to behave any differently from deathblock with regards to Quivering Palm. Your confusion is caused because the in-game text for Deathward is somewhat abbreviated to save space, so you don't see the word "magical" there as well.
By the way, they both block Assassinate as well. I would prefer if neither of those extraordinary but non-supernatural fatal attacks were prevented by Deathward. But by the same principle that lead DDO to declare Vorpal to be a death effect, Assassinate and Quivering Palm can be too.

it it's supernatural death causing (and Quivering Palm is) expect them to block it with the above spells. Forget if it's right or not. But that normally happens.
As for us, I assume we'd get shafted, but yet to have a monk try it on me (thank god.)
