It's approaching that time of year again so I will ask the question this year.

How many of my Fellow DDO players will be attending the Con? ;)

This is my 2nd year and I'm looking forward to it.

Had a great time last year the DDO party was great but our hotel was a drive away so our fun was limited by the drive but this year we have a room within walking distance :D.

See you in Indy

I'll be there :D

It'll be my 4th year in a row and 5th overall. Still trying to work myself into some semblance of shape so all that walking isn't the death of me :p

I'm totally there. Got this from the GenCon "send me stuff" email thing:

Tower of Gygax

In 1974, E. Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson introduced the world to Dungeons & Dragons. The game has taken many forms over the last 34 years, and over the decades it has inspired new styles of games, from pen and paper role-playing to card games and computer games. Gygax and Arneson opened the door to new realms of the imagination, and to honor the memory of E. Gary Gygax we want to take a step back into the history of Dungeons and Dragons.

In the far reaches of the world, hidden on hostile peak, the sinister TOWER OF GYGAX rises towards the heavens. Once home to the greatest wizard of all time, the tower is filled with terrible traps, strange and ferocious monsters, and rich and magical treasures. Today a new generation of heroes has found the tower and dreams of the wonders within – but will any of them survive?

The Tower of Gygax gives players a quick and deadly glimpse of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Return to the days when rogues were called "thieves", and what looks like an innocent cave might actually be a sphere of annihilation. No experience with AD&D is required to take part in the event, just a sense of humor and a lack of fear. Come take your chances in the Tower of Gygax – whether you die in the first five minutes or live to tell the tale, we hope you'll enjoy the experience!

The event will run 24 hours a day (from 10 am on Thursday through 3 pm on Sunday) in room 115 in the convention center – a session begins every hour so sign up for a slot to reserve your space or just swing by to remember Gary and hop into a session. There is always room for a few more gamers.

We’re always looking for a few more GMs, too! If you have a few hours free and would like to get involved and run some of your fellow gamers through an ever-changing and evolving Gygaxian dungeon, email event(((at)))gencon.com with your availability.
Event IDs are RPG01972 and RPG01977 through RPG02052. Check out the event charts for full details.

not sure what you meant to imply with this remark, this game was my first foray into gaming outside of console systems so i am not fluent in game speak.

One of the biggest geek and gaming conventions in the world. www.gencon.com. DnD and just about anything else game-related will be there!

I'll be there...

And so will my guild. And if you are VERY Lucky... I hear Beula is giving away Autographed portraits of herself...

But that's just a desperate attempt at buying a friend I am sure....

I want to, to provide info to the community through DDO Reports, but it isn't looking good. I could get the time off work, but affording the flight and hotel is more difficult. :( Real life sucks some times.

I can afford the flight, but looking for hotels... Any suggestions? Anyone want to split a room? :)

Looking forward to freeing Arlos with a "waterworks" drink, at whatever watering hole we end up at!

Not gonna make it this year, new baby will be 7 weeks old. Ustice if you find a roomie you must "free arlos" for me. :D

I believe True Dungeon is already all booked up, if not do it NOW as it sells out quickly. I also recommend Killer Breakfast. I played that last year with Gary Gygax and it was HILARIOUS! It starts at 9am but get there early as not everyone who wants to play gets to...my advice, be clever and don't hesitate! Also the author "events" are very informative. I learned a lot about Eberron from Keith Baker and James Wyatt last year.

Anyway, have fun all and be nice to the devs (who have a nice booth all to themselves according to Gencon's website. :D:cool:)

We'll be there :D

But will you be promoting DDO, or are you just there to support Turbine and their other investments?

Not that I won't be there for anyone curious about our other products, but my primary purpose will be DDO :)

Dude..

Gencon is the Mecca of Gaming. (And if you get that reference you've been going to Gencon for a while now.)

Anyway.. It's a GAMING convention of all games. Computer. RPG. Collectable Card Games. Poker. You name it. It'll be there. Or bring it and find a group to play.

Anyway, I'll be going again. (Been every year it's been in Indy and hit or Miss prior to that.)

I was contacted by someone (I don't know if that person wants to be mentioned or not) that said that they over-booked a few rooms, and the price is $66 a night. If there is anyone that is willing to split one with me (at $33 a night for each of us) that would make the price about right for me.
