Was thinking of rolling up a drow 2wf..............11 fighter, 2 rogue, 3 paladin............what you guys think???? Not sure if this is a viable build or not, any feedback would be great..........

Without knowing whats coming with fighter feats and prestige classes I would be warry of investing too much time at this point.
But twf means dps.
The best ways to do that at the moment are.
A 14 barb 2 fighter. DW kopeshs with the barb crit rage enhancement.
A tempest Ranger splashed with fighter.
Former has a 15-20 x3 for crits
Latter has a 17-20 x 3 but with a permanent 20% alacrity boost from tempest and the 15% activatable from fighters speed boost.
Both deal out LOTS of dps.
Me I did a uber survivable/dps 16th fighter with the hopes that The prestige class would be worth taking :). But Ghinsuu is unique not too many halfling pure fighters out there. However he works extremely well.
Either way no reason to go drow unless your dead set on the looks. Since the crit multiplier on longswords is sub par.
Dwarves or Halfling is the way to go.
BUT that all being said.. its a game... play and have fun.

I'm doing something similar as well. twf with oversized weapon fighting and bastard swords feat. Thinking something like 12 fighter/3 paladin/1 rogue. Made him human for the additional starting feat and extra skill points. Now the only thing is I want to play around with different templates before leveling him up much more.
Are there any programs or calcs I can find to figure up different templates?

a drow would be better as tempest ranger or rogue
you could be dex-based & splash some fighter levels into both builds to get some combat feats & to make yourself a little bit tougher
you could try str for a tempest ranger, start dex at 18 & str at 16 & put all level-ups into str
with +2 tomes for dex & str & rage/ram's might, you will have 32 str & 30 dex, it works pretty well & you do not use a feat on weapon finesse
if you want to do dps, tempest ranger or rogue will do more than a fighter if you know how to play

Hmmm, here's what I'm thinking. Human 10 fighter/3 paladin (immunities and wand usage)/3 rogue(evasion and sneak attack).
Feats: 2weapon fighting, oversized weapon fighting, bastard sword or khopesh (for higher base damage or better crits).
From here, 2 alternate routes to go - 1: dodge, mobility, spring attack, combat expertise, whirlwind (I think I can get whirlwind in here, if not, spring attack is still useful for staying on the move).
2: feats to improve slashing damage/improved crits/improved 2w feats.
Unfortunately I'm not completely sure what all the stat reqs are, can anyone give some input on stats you would need to go these 2 paths?

Whirlwind is blech with twf... only your main hand does damage... you actually loose dps.
CE is also blech with twf... more suited to a sword and board... twf you want power attack.

I think people would make the argument that for any race tempest ranger or rogue are better. The advantage of fighters is hit points/ac/dps. What I mean is you can make a strength base fighter with a highish ac that has alot of hit points. You will not do as much dps as rangers or rogues, but you can have more overall survivability. In regards to drow as melee characters this is not their time in ddo. Nobody is making a drow for melee once they reach 1750 the reason is frankly their enhancements are inferior. All the other races make better melee then drow or elves at the moment. Elves make excellent longbow ranged characters, but I digress.

Rolled up my human 2wf, the other day.........Once I looked at it, ur right, there is nothing a drow gave me that made it better than a human imo. That being said, he is a level 5 right now. (2 fighter, 3 pally) Totally forgot about evasion needing light armor, so rogue might be out. Not sure where to go from here, but am staying with the 3 pally levels and no more. Definately want to get to 11 fighter (3rd armor enhancement) Who knows what else from there. Sometimes the thinking of a character is more of a grind than the actual leveling of a character......LOL

personally, i would only roll a drow rogue/fighter who focuses on assassination, probably 13/3 to 15/1 split
although, halflings are better currently right now as rogues
you can make a drow bard though who can fight with 2-weapons although might be a little squishy
elves make good tempest rangers, you can make an elf 12 ranger/4 fighter that has over 350 hitpoints no prob
basically, there are favored classes for races in DDO for a reason
