Just curious if Cleave attacks generate Ki for each successful hit?
<too lazy to search today>
Thanks!

Can't confirm, but it should. Each cleave attack is a seperate attack roll, and each hit applies any weapon special effect. Ki generation should also apply.

It does. Had it on a test monk that got to level 2. Cleave was fun.

I need to read up on Clerics now. Hmm, I see some cool potential in a Cleave/Gcleave FoL Qstaff Cleric / Monk.

I am positive it does generate ki, actually it generate A LOT of ki, so you can guess what happen with fire stance ;)
By this logic, would whirlwind generate Ki as well?

In sun stance where Ki generation is based per hit yes, otherwise I think it's based on a combination of hits, or per kill I'm not sure which.

All ki is generated per hit, excepting one animal path(IIRC) that generates ki when you are struck and one that generates ki when your health drops below a certain point. Fire stance just increases ki generated per hit. I.E. Instead of generating one ki per hit, you recieve 2 per hit. Try a monk in Fire stance, using Crane, spamming stunning fist, and cleave/G cleave. That is Awesome ki generation.

Yes it does.
I take Power Attack + Cleave on level 1 monks, then run through a few dungeon rooms gathering 10-12 kobolds behind me. I stop, block for a second as they arrive, then cleave them all for Ki and damage.
I recommend monk players try to get Cleave as soon as possible, because the crowds of monsters that make it work well are more prevalent in low-level quests.

Good advice except remove great cleave, it's a useless feat that has horrible unarmed animation, on top of that you don't get the great cleave effect until after the animation is done which completely messes up your rate of attack. Your better off just getting cleave, and possibly whirlwind, don't know about ww animations as I haven't gotten that far with my build.

Actually, it's earth stance that let's you generate ki when you get hit, and tenacious badger that lets you generate ki when under a certain amount of health (15% at tier 1; not sure about after that). Cleave and fire stance generates more ki than you will ever use :)

higher fire adept levels generate MORE ki per hit AND critical hit. Keep up that Natural+innate strength folks!

Once you get used to the odd animation and use it before you're in an attack chain, it's just as handy as "normal" great cleave.
