Hi everyone,

I started a monk ealier today and when I got to level 3 I picked "Philosophy: Path of Inevitable Dominion" as my feat. And I wanted to know what spiecal attacks I would get with it so I can get an idea of what my monk will be able to do in the future. I found out that there are no spiecal attacks/enhancements for "Philosophy: Path of Inevitable Dominion". But there are plently of spiecal attacks/enhancements for "Philosophy: Path of Harmonious Balance".

Is it just me, or is there no reason to even have selected "Philosophy: Path of Inevitable Dominion" as a feat?

There are no additional special attacks from Dominion other then Fists of Darkness.

The strength of Dominion lies in the finishing moves, and the ability to use Fists of Darkness to lower the saves of the target before using a finisher/stunning fist.

Do they get any extra finishing moves that are unique to the feat?

The finishing moves go Dark/Dark/Dark, and Element/Dark/Same Element

So yes they have specific finishing moves.

dark does get those finishing moves but going with the light side you also get finishing moves.. i think that the inevitable dominion monks need some more moves like what harmonious path has that you can get through enhancements.

Exactlly! It doesn't even really give you a choice to which path to take. Because there is so much you can do with Philosophy: Path of Harmonious Balance and nothing really with Philosophy: Path of Inevitable Dominion.

each path has a strength.

like the Darkness Finisher that negates healing on the target for 30 sec... could seriously make some combats easier

and apparrently it works on red named so that Paladin at the end of Running w/the Devils

the Lts in part 2 and 4 of the shroud that spam heal on themselves... could make for much easier fights

not to mention all the other debuffs

I like the IDEA behind inevitable dominion, but I can't fight for it too hard, to be honest. I think the cards are stacked a little bit in Balance's favor myself (especially now that Dance of the Sun, and the water-pos-water finisher, stacks)

I have heard a few people on the forums say they like it, though, and does have some things going for it (like previously mentioned) that make it pretty good in situations. (you can replace most of the special cures Balance has with clickies, after all)

My Monk is level 12 and I took the Path of Inevitable Dominion, and I love it! Granted I can't remove curses etc but the basic fist of darkness is great! However, I do wish they would throw in at least a couple of enhancements for this path. Maybe: Curse, Bain, Fatigue would be nice. None are seriously overpowered, and all would help a party in a melee situation while keeping in the philosophy of negative affects.

yeah that would be nice

I think the following might be nice

Shaken
Fatigued
Exhausted
Cursed

those would be fun :)

That's what I'm saying. When you look at the enhancement list it looks like Balance is the only way to go. Dominion should have the same number of enhancements that do curse, blind, paralyze, and what not. That would be a nice addition for furture updates.

Cant they do this already... well aside from the curse thing(EDIT or did you mean enhancements to make these affects better?). The Dark finisher is paralyze, along with Falling star Strike for Blindness. Started my Monk with Positive and switched over at level 3 or 4. Having much more fun currently than reproducing a bunch of potion affects. Fire pos Fire is nice but I like being able to use offensive stuff on mobs, with the saves being upped Im having much more fun with my Wind/Water-Dark specced monk. All that matters to me.:)

That is completely untrue.

It is a BIG mistake to judge the number of enhancements as a reason to go for Harmonic Balance. Good monks won't take any related enhancement besides Fists of Light.
