My one and only DDO character, a level 7 rogue, headed to Three Barrel Cove last night for the first time with a couple friends.

First, we ran Three Toed Tobias. Even though we had a couple deaths, I thought this was the best quest so far. I really enjoyed some of the unique features; like the cracking ice and shooting the levers. The atmosphere in the caves was great and I loved having to swim down and under certain parts.

Unfortunately for the Three-toed quest, it's position as the #1 quest in the game so far was short lived. Immediately after that one, we ran Prove Your Worth. THAT, my friends, is a D&D quest. This was no "STK - elite - fast!!!! Need healer!" quest that I see on the Grouping the tab. This was a pure dungeon crawl where danger lurked around every corner. We moved slowly. I searched every nook. We stood at every hallway thinking "Ok, something bad is going to happen here...I just don't know what." Loved the ladder jumping. Loved the platform jumping. The puzzle? AMAZING. The fire maze was also extremely stressful (read: Fun) because the jets were so loud I couldn't hear the advice my party was giving me for avoiding them.

Great quest, Turbine. Thanks for that one.

I concur. Great new quests.

If you like the dungeon crawl, check out my signature. Bring your friends :)

By the way, groups I was in explored all of the new area in PD style. We completed all the quests with level appropriate characters.

Was soloing Two-oed tobias this morning and got stuck.
Got to the boat and pull the bow and arrows, but could only find only valve for the door up top. Found a valve under the ice on radar, but couldn't get to it. The bow and arrow makes me think of these arrow targets you mentioned, but I couldn't find them.

Tahnks!

any time new quests come out people all of a sudden play a little slower, until they learn it and then zerg away. I remember when I first started playing, the first day DDO went live hardly anyone knew any quests, nobody was twinked and STK was a 3 hour affair, and water works was the big xp quest (XP got nerfed not too long after go live). Back then getting a +1 elemental weapon was like pulling a w/p rapier today, and there were maybe 10 vorpals on each server.

(SPOILER)
Near the boat with the arrows, there is an underwater valve you should turn before swimming further down towards the area with the melting ice. It's probably the one you missed (it's not deep underwater, but it's hidden in a crack near the boat).

Yeah, I really love all three of the new three barrel quests as well. Ran prove your worth last night, nice "unique" quest that's off the beaten path, style-wise. Two-toed is probably my favorite of the new stuff, and Ghost of a Chance is a quick but cool quest as well. Love 'em. Now, let's see another dozen of them! :)
