I am starting out a new toon (a dwarf - ranger/pally) strength based and ran into this question. Should I go the armor way, i.e. +5 Mithral fullplate or go robe.
I can line his Dex out to a 28 if I find a +3 tome and incorpoate all the Ranger Dex enhancements(yeah right), but realistically more like a 26 Dex; however I have him currently set up to be at 24 Dex.
the flip side is go +5 mithral fullplate, and expand on dwarven armor mastery III.
So, can I have you wonderful DDO people enlighten me on which direction would be beneficial insofar as AC is concerned?
Thank you in advance.

Actually me and a buddy of mine sat in a party chat one nigth looking into as it would seem a very very similar build and I dont have specifics because I cant find my notes that we came up with but IIRC we came up with the armor route being able to come up with the higher ac and then obviously the ac bonuses and save fgrom the pally figuring in dwarven armor mastery dex items and ranger dex enhancments it was obtainable the only thing being eliminated ultimately based on how many levels of each was with the 9 levels of ranger you would lose out on the evasion that you would need the light armor for. Dont remember exact numbers though ATM

Well, just do the maths, taking the new Icy Rainment into account. Shouldn't be too hard to see which one wins depending on your Dex.

I thought Mithral fullplate, though classified as medium armor, did not effect evasion. If I am wrong, I am wrong, but I was under that impression for sometime now. If that is the case, then Id have to assume i would go Mithral Breat plate.

Yeah unfortunatly with MFP you dont get the benifits of evasion because it is conisdered a medium armor. MBP however which is considered a light armor you do get the benefits of evasion and if done correctly you can get at least very close to the same ac benefit as the heavier armor. I ended up doing this with my psuedo batman build fighter where I end up with just 2 less on my ac count on the MBP versus the MFP.

well i dont want to take into account static end reward items. I already have a +5 mithral fullplate and was going with that. Epic Items and uber items are just a bonus, im just taking into account stuff thats more attainable.
