Well now that all the ranged based raid loot (for a bow user) is falling in that abbot I am going to be doing a few runs at the abbot each night to help people get used to the puzzles and beating down the would be god.
If you are interested in joining up.....
We are typically on from 5pm cst till around 9-10 pm cst and will be throwing up a lfm. We will start running the raid at 6 people and keep the lfm up until it fills.
If you have beaten the raid and want to help... Any information or skills are always welcome.
Basic Puzzle Tech:
Puzzle 1 (essential to surviving the inferno):
In this puzzle the two adventurers are teleported to a small platform with two "tables" near the death water. On each table is an ice platform wand. Each adventurer should pick up one wand and place it on their hot bars for easy use. Each wand has a ~10 second cooldown so their use must be staggered a bit for the puzzle to be completed. The path the adventurers must take is essentially a set of S curves leading to a final platform with an additional two wands for surviving the inferno.
One player will be number 1 and the other number 2. 1 will use mouse look to aim the wand at the death water and cast a platform into it. At this point both characters will jump onto the center of the platform (only the center is really fully out of the death water). At this point 2 will step infront of 1 and use mouse look to aim the wand at the water and cast the next platform. When casting the platforms its important to be staggered like this so the platform does not deflect off of the other player. It is also important to cast the platform within a jumping distance. Once the platform is in the water both characters will jump to it. I have found it useful to use mouse look when I jump and look directly down at the platform as I land (this is just my experience and I'm not a good jumper). When the players reach the traps its important that the platform not end up right infront of the trap as the darts can interrupt the wand use and cause you to fail.
Puzzle 2:
The asteroid puzzle leaves you and another adventurer stranded on a small platform amoung the stars. On the platform are two piles of rocks. Pick up the rocks and place them on your hotbar and click them to equip them to your hand (will make you hand look like a giant glowing rock). After about 30 seconds asteroids will begin moving towards the platform. Using mouse look you need to manually target the asteroids using the receptacle and attack the asteroid by throwing the rock at it. If you aimed correctly (aim at the lower half of the asteroid) the asteroid will explode. We have found a back to back approach works decently for covering the incoming asteroids. If the platform is hit you may not die, the platform shakes and you are randomly moved around. Some times you fall off....some times not. Once finished there will be another pair of rock piles for dealing with the encasement spell of the abbot.
