I belong to a guild that back in the Fernia days was one of the older and bigger guilds. Lots of people around, lots of high end players to raid with, great people I've come to really like, etc. Over the last few months, though, we've had quite a few people leave. People go to WoW, to Lotro, to AoC, or just take breaks, quit, take care of real life or what have you.

The situation I now find myself in is I'm in a very small guild with the few people who are left are mostly pretty casual, or who have families and other commitments that don't let them play all that often. I think they're great and I don't really want to leave this fun guild I've been a part of for so long.

The problem, of course, is that other than me, there's really only one other active member who raids, gets high end quests done often, etc. PUGs can be hard to get into for some of the raids when you're not in a big and active guild, and this coupled with a break I had to take to deal with real life issues for a couple of months have left me somewhat behind the curve. I've been on all the raids except the abbot now and I generally know what I'm doing, but I'd like to have a chance to pick up the pace on my raiding. I'm generally on late nights and weekends.

Are there any guilds or groups that raid regularly out there who would think about taking on a provisional member or giving me a shot to prove I at least don't suck? I've been around forever and you've likely grouped with one of my toons at some point...Colde is my main. If you're part of a group that raids regularly and could use another hand, I'm looking to get on a few friend lists, but I'm not yet ready to leave the great group of people I'm guilded with. Send a PM on here or a message in game to Colde. I have a few raiding toons but he's my main and I'm usually on him.

sub topic: have you ever dealt with a falling off in your guild? What did you do?

IMO, do what you need to do to make yourself happy. Whatever decision this leads to, remember its just a game. If you want to get more out of the game (i.e. raids) than just the social aspect, then it might be time to go to raiding guild. Keep in mind that just because you leave your guild, it doesnt mean that you lose the friendships you have established. I would suggest that being open to your guild friends (and to yourself), you might find it easier to make your decision.

Normally, I would advise to hold on and be patient. Guilds go in waves as content gets old. Granted we received very little content with this latest Mod, but it is new and Monks are new. Thus, if it's dead right now, it may stay that way. There are some very good guilds on Ghallanda that focus on raiding or that are large and very active. I suggest to either find a more suitable guild or stay where your at and get yourself known to a couple of guilds that are active and align with them.

Come run with us anytime Colde.

I believe you were in a couple of our last Hound raids.

Anyone is always welcome to accompany us into the insane HELL that is a Burning Legion raid! :D:p

Oh yeah, they know how I feel. We've all been feeling the lack of members and activity. We've been talking about the state of the guild and such, and the other more active player and I have discussed wanting to raid more (he raids quite a bit more than I do, but even he has expressed frustration with getting into groups at times). Everyone WANTS to play more, I think, but there's only so much we can do with so few left.

Well, I'm just PUGin' along, or trying to. Hopefully I can drum up some business, hehe. Hope to see you guys in game.
