I've been jotting down some of the locations in Three-Barrel Cove while I've explored the area. I'm still missing two of the exploration locations, but maybe someone else will find them. I think I found most of the quests.

Thanks to MrCow (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=34823) for the blank map (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=147619) and UnderwearModel (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=106792) and Pwesiela (http://forums.ddo.com/member.php?u=28925) for help locating the rare spawns. Pwesiela also has a great map of the area up here (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=149216).

Awesome map. Not sure which explorer points you are missing but I don't see the "Ghost of a Chance" quest on there. It is east of the Elusive Bounty underwater near the shore where the 4 dark blue lines come together.

NICE!
I was running around it for a few hours the other night and only found 1 of the quests.
I really like the new aria a lot!!! DEFF need more of the explorers like this at diff lvl ranges.
Great map!! I know what ill be doing tonight.

Great map! Were you looking to add rare encounters, at some point? (Not suggesting, just wondering...)
I've had a heck of a lot of fun in this new area. I hope they keep producing world-expanding areas.

Thanks for a great map. Got a few questions.
I have run all around the area you state the wheeping cove is in and cant seem to get it.
I have also swam around, under, through the rocks marking the elusive bounty and it does not register for me.
Any advice?

The map shows the Salty Wench as Wheeping Cove - perhaps WC is closer to 2 Toed Tobias?
You may have to get lost in and under there, to actually find it. I seriously cannot articulate steps to follow.
Did they just relocate the old quests, or are there some actual new quests in TBC? (Slayers and Explorers and Rares aside)?

I am hoping at some point they start connecting these areas with other areas so it feels like we are actually traveling instead of teleporting.

Relocation, plus a couple of new quests. Prove your Worth, Two Toed Tobias. Perhaps another.

It's a toughie to get to unless led there once by someone who found it. You have to get down into the rock maze to get the spot and booty.
On this map, the entrance is in that dark area right under "elusive".

I would like to point out that the Lady Luck is no airship, however. . . ;)

I would like to, but out of everywhere I've been, I have yet to find a single rare encounter.

That was my mistake. The Wheeping Cove is the dungeon for the Legend of Two-Toed Tobias quest. It is down under the shipwreck in that area and the map has been edited to reflect this. The Elusive Bounty is in the rock formation out in the water. I didn't spend long swimming before finding it. Just look for the area where you can swim straight down through multiple layers, then swim around below.
Nice map!

Thank you. Lady Luck has been edited accordingly.

I'm glad you made it. I wish Turbine would allow us to permanently unlock maps and get these locations marked in-game once we find them on the map.
That said, all the errors in the map have been removed, and I added in the Salty Wench, which was my last missing location. Everything should now be correct, including the Lady Luck, which was not an airship, but just extremely unlucky. If I find any rare encounters, I'll add them onto the map in red.

Has anyone found a rare encounter in Three-Barrel Cove?

I found two the first day: A minotaur right on the docks outside of the tavern & a sahaugin chieftain a bit away along the shoreline, just north of the marketplace tent crescent.

Spoilers:
The Mino is called Scorchtusk.
The Sahaugin is Brine.
A hyena named Chortle is in close proximity to Rakham's Trial. Admiral Anker appears in Admiral Anker's Camp (I know how surprising that sounds...)
Draw a line due south of the Crescent. Draw a line due west of Black Loch. The island just south of that intersection has a Scrag, a Rare named Dulse.
From the Orc Pirates Stronghold, go to the north end of the valley to find another, Hafgrim.

Has anyone found a rare encounter in Three-Barrel Cove?
I loved exploring 3BC. Thanks to the help of great guildmates I have one permadeath character with all explorer points and all rares. Still need to do two of the new quests, but I am going with a lower level character for Ghost of a Chance and the other one (completed Two-Toed Tobias).

Found a very friendly Troll called Dulse, on the raised island to the west of the Black loch. Took a while to kill as I had to wander through my inventory trying to find something firey. The Island inhabited by lots of Shaughin, and you need to go for a cooling swim to get there.
BTW Thanks for the map, I groaned when I realized you have to wander around to get to some the new and old quests, this will help when others of my guild organize themselves for a sunny tour of the place.

1. IlmarinTychonn Pirate Captain
2. Dybesh Relix First Mate no chest
3. Hafgrim Moonhowler, Bugbear Shanty Singer
4. Scorchtusk Minotaur on the Docks, right by the tavern
5. Captain Dustdyn, Orc Pirate Captain
6. Chortle, Hyena Packmaster
7. Lacerator, Scorpion on beach just west of Legend of Two Toed Tobias
8. Vitia, Darkfang Slayer, a Spider
9. Thrum Ancient Earth Elemental
10. Brine Sahaugin CHieftain
11. Dulse, Troll Champion of the Devourer
12. Admiral Ancker, Kobold Sea Captain
13. Cannoneer Strinati, Fallen Captain, just west of Legend of Two Toed Tobias
There is a named thief, Ithun Orenah, Tiefling Master Assassin, CR 7, Native Outsider, over near the Whispering Wind, behind a hidden/disguised/camouflaged shrine, that has a chest. Could this be a 14th rare but DDO could not count?

Where is rare #1 located? The only I can't find...
The rares here aren't too tough, but dangerous enough if you aren't paying attention.

Go up to the Pirate Air Ship. He is either there or wenching and consuming vast quantities of ale.

Really, the best part of any of this new content is the phenomenal-looking landscapes you make. It'll be a sad day if/when you ever get transferred/hired away/burned out.

I always liked 3BC before the modification. When the game was new I would bring guildies and random PUGs out to it to do the adventures and always got a lot of "cool area" comments.
I like the new 3BC even better.
Great job devs. Keep up the work and please keep adding more outdoor areas for all levels. (What about the Black Anvil Forrest? That could be a great area with some more "walk up" quests in it for level 9 to 11ish characters)

I kept killing the Tiefling assassin and not getting credit for a rare encounter. Now I know it is a hyena packmaster that is my last rare. I really like the ablity to go back and finish off the adventure areas regardless of level.

Thanks for the map. There's plenty of places you can get with a high enough jump and even a jump spell, or run long way around and find the path, but the in-game mapping system is very deceptive and even with this map, you gotta do a lot of exploring to figure out how to get there so this doesn't spoil a lot.
Maybe in the future we'll get other large areas and heck, this area could have some future high level quests tossed in. Really, who thought the new highest power quests would be under the old marketplace? We could see level 25 quests someday out there.

this is a really cool place far better fun than another expresso 30min Delerias tomb run for the 5th time or the usual tangleroot

There's an inlet just past the lighthouse with scorpions on the beaches, skellies in the shallows, and a wreck just off in deep water. Go to the aft end of the wreck and dive straight down. There's an underwater canyon down there that leads right to it, swimming toward the wreck. You'll run right into the Wheeping Cove entrance if you swim along the bottom of the canyon.
It really helps to have an amulet of underwater action with this quest.
