As a long time D&D and MMO player, I recently discovered DDO and am extremely pleased. I'm playing an elf rogue and just made level 4. I'll be playing a pure rogue because, well, that's what I play in every game. :) With that, my first week of playing has generated a few questions that the manual can't answer.

1. The manual specifically says that you can't have more than 4 enhancements at one time. I'm showing way more than 4 on my character sheet. Are they all active? I assume they are since I also see future enhancements that have up to 6 prerequisites. Is this an error in the manual or has it been recently changed to allow more than 4 enhancements?

2. Since the last patch, my rogue is no longer getting sneak attacks when attacking from stealth. However, he's getting plenty of SA's when attacking a monster that's fighting someone else. Bug? Anyone else? It could be that I'm getting spotted every time right before I attack but I've got super high Hide/MS skill and getting no SA's.

3. Is there a way to reset skill point allocation like you can with Feats and Enhancements? I recently started over due to not realizing how differently Spot works in DDO vs. D&D but if I make another similar discover, I'd like to be able to reset them instead of starting over.

4. Is there non-robe clothing in the game? One of my biggest complaints about the NWN2 series was the lack of zero AC clothing that wasn't a robe. A high dex character needs 0AC clothing! The original NWN had great selections for clothing for rogues and assassins that didn't look like a robe or monk outfit.

TIA!

Now you are only limited by the number of action points you have to spend (you get 4 per level)

This is probably due to the monster either seeing/hearing you, or you bumping into the monster before your attack, or you could just be missing the first attack's sneak damage in the later flurry of attacks (if you are alone, only your first attack has the potential of being a sneak attack). There use to be a bug where a weapon effect would cancel your sneak attack, but i thought that was fixed.

3. Is there a way to reset skill point allocation like you can with Feats and Enhancements? I recently started over due to not realizing how differently Spot works in DDO vs. D&D but if I make another similar discover, I'd like to be able to reset them instead of starting over. You cannot currently respec skill points. Probably wont ever be able to either.

The original NWN had great selections for clothing for rogues and assassins that didn't look like a robe or monk outfit. Outfits just came out. Not sure how good they are as I've yet to see many styles. The basic monk outfit looks like pyjamas :D

TIA!

Enhancement system was revised about a year ago, but if you are reading a paper manual it probably reflect the old system

Some mobs have very good Spot rolls, so even thou you are sneaking they know you are there for example. Since Spot vs hide is a simple opposed value, if your Hide is just something like 15 any mob with an adjusted spot of over that would notice you.

3. Is there a way to reset skill point allocation like you can with Feats and Enhancements? I recently started over due to not realizing how differently Spot works in DDO vs. D&D but if I make another similar discover, I'd like to be able to reset them instead of starting over.

Skills are forever, no reset in game at this point. You can reset Enhancements and Swap out Feats (for a cost)

New Outfits as of this Module fit that request.

TIA!

Thanks all.

One more quick one...

Is this game still gaining players or is it losing players? It's so unique compared to the dozens of "kill a bunch of monsters over and over" games that I'm surprised it's not more popular...or is it?

I realize the wonderful instancing prevents the game from feeling crowded but is it dying?

no it is slowly growing, some older players are leaving, AOC has stolen a few players, but especially on Argo we are seeing more and more new players to make up for lost players. The games development pace has slowed down, but for newer players the game is in great shape and has plenty of content, which was not around when the game went live

That's good to hear. I'm continually impressed the more I play. Thanks!

They may very well have bugged SA from stealth... it has happened in the past when they changed around the order that enchantments on your weapon "fired". I would bug report it. Try using a different weapon (esp an unenchanted one) and see if it works with that to narrow down the problem.

If your bluff is high using that supposed to provide you with the opportunity to SA as well, but I've never been able to get that to work. Otherwise you will only get a single SA when solo because there is nothing to take the aggro away from you.
