Hi everyone,

I am just now starting to dabble in the Shroud (and crafting) and would like to try and plan my farming and creations now, so I don't screw up later.

-I've got an intimi-tank paladin and am not sure what I should be crafting. I figure I'll go for goggles first, since that is the dead item slot, and am hoping to relieve some of the slot issues I am having by getting a +6 bonus to a stat on them, or +5 resist or protection if possible. More HP is a plus. More spell points are a plus. Bonuses to Cha skills (intimidate) and/or Dex skills (balance) are good. If I can get a bonus to only one save, I'd prefer Will. I like guard effects, but that would be secondary, I suppose (or not if people convince me that they are important). A resurrection clicky would be pretty awesome, since I often survive party wipes, and it'd allow me to resurrect the cleric without him dying immediately. If there is any way to get a bonus to a single skill (intimidate) of +10 or better, that'd be a great addition. Proof against poison would be welcomed, blindness immunity isn't bad, but disease immunity is pretty worthless to me. The insight to AC bonus only comes on a weapon, right?

-I'd also like to figure out what sort of weapon to make. I'm hoping that the next module will bring axes (battle or dwarven), but I could go for a longsword if needed. No clue what I want on this aside from the +4 insight to AC. As a paladin, the good-themed weapon looks nice, but there are enough non-evil enemies to make me wonder about something more useful. All the stuff above holds true for this as well, though, due to the nature of weapons, I'd rather not have something on the weapon I want to have all the time, that I'd lose any time I changed to a different weapon (such as a smiter, vorpal, or paralyzer). I suppose that I could live with that for the few instances that require doing so. The +3 stacking bonus to Str, Con, or Cha would be nice, though I imagine that only either the +4 insight OR the +3 ability boost can be put on a weapon, not both.

I'd like some suggestions on combinations that would work well for me, and at least some indication as to how to make it (I have a crafting guide, and the crafting helper bookmarked, but am just now beginning to fiddle with them). Thanks for any help!

Personally, I'd use the Crafting Planner. It's an easy, cool little program that allows you to play with the different combinations and includes dual 3rd tier effects. I use it exclusively and have 1 item and 2 weapons printed out for each of my shroud ready characters. I have yet to screw up a recipe using this program. You know you're characters better than anybody and there are just way too many different item and weapon combinations. Good Luck with your crafting.

I THink this would be a nice combo for a Paly.

What exactly are dual tier 3 effects? I don't really understand how that works. And fiddling with the planner, I'm generally not getting the option to get un-ghosted. I've been working backwards, starting with the 3rd tier ability I desire, and working down. Is this a way to get 2 tier 3 effects (like the stacking ability boost AND +4 insight to AC together)?

Oh, and thanks for the comments so far.

You cannot get 3 TIer 3 Effects. One Tier 3 (Dominant) and one Special effect for a dual shard upgrade. THe planner I used for those goggles are pretty spot on. If ya cant slect it, ya cant make it.
