On May 1, Turbine leaked/announced that it had secured $40 million in new venture capital.

That compares to $88 million its pulled in over its entire life. Its alot of dough.

Multiple sites were saying that Turbine would be announcing where the money would be spent over the following 2 weeks.

Well ... its now June 2 ...

Is DDO getting any of that cash for an expansion???

C'mon ... Tell your loyal playerbase first!

Don't hold your breath.

Turbine should sell this IP to some group that will develop this game

I never thought I'd do a post like this put: For some people, if Turbine doesn't do it their way, Turbine is doing nothing.

Turbine isn't performing great lately, but it happens. The important part is how they can/will recover from their mistakes.

Probably as much as they can afford without slowing down the rest of the production, given the small playerbase they have.

A)would you rather have cookie cutter quest, which all look the same but with different goals, and put together a little different each time. and have 20 per month

OR

B)Would you rather they HANDCRAFT each and every quest that are completely different from the previous quest you ran. but only have 5 every couple of months or so plus bug fixes, new crafting stuff, and adding other stuff.

Turbine has said in the past and they really need to say it again for the all the new people or the poeple who missed the first time. Everytime they make a quest its from scratch. Each and every quest is Handmade. They dont just dont sit in front of a computer and 10 minutes later have a brand new quest. It takes weeks to have it go from a storyboard to the computer screen. DDO is not like other MMO's that just slap together some objectives and use a generic quest builder to make a quest.

It takes a lot longer to add unique content then it does to add same tile sets over and over again, Also, Druids would be nice but, there are more important things then to worry about druids, hell we just got monks be happy with what you got and stop complaining about the tgame that will be here 10 years or more like what they have stated recently.

Who knows what they have plan already for future mods, we already know what mod 8 will have

And if you dont like turbine is doing then put down your weapon and move to AOC and you can complain like them over there.

Aye agreed, I have been playing since headstart, once I have started to get bored and only took about a month off. I hate to say it but we had a horrible launch, however Turbine has done (IMO) a wonderfull job of recovering and really fleshing out this game. I love the fact that we get handcrafted quests rather than go get me 20 monkey genetalia type quests.

Would I like it if content came out faster? Ohh yea you bet I would, but even as things stand I don;t see myself going anywhere anytime soon.

I'll be curious to see where this money goes as well. I suspect it's going to be a console product, but I know nothing.

I miss the days of 5 new quests a month (or 2) was an easy way to run up favor since everyone was running them for a week or two, then back to the usual loot runs.

now we get 5 new quests ever 5-6 months?
