What happened to "Monk Week?"

I'm a little curious if the "Dev sparring" was the extent of it is all. I'm sure most of the players will aggree that knowing that the target date for this being June 3 was good news, but wheres the rest of it? I mean this is like an old Wendy's commercial right now. Where's the beef? The press releases are nice, but I wouldn't call that an event. Is there more to this or is it over already? We were told to mark our calenders for this is all.

I actually have stopped playing for the last 3-4 days since I'm done testing monks on Risa and don't want to burn myself out on them, and I can't find motivation to play my other characters right now knowing I will be putting them on a back burner for quite awhile so soon.

I was hoping for a bit more "fun" stuff along with monks actually being released this week near the end (possibly at the start of the weekend). June 3 isn't too far off though so it's not a big deal, but I don't really see why we needed to "mark our calanders" for this week either at this point.

I certainly appreciate the info about monks...but it did seem like "more" was promised (live events etc).

I guess watching high lvl monks play can be called a live event...but it certainly isn't live events.

More then likely something else is planned for this weekend is my guess.

It's a live event....going on now.

Monks will spawn from portals in the Market.
There's several of us standing around in the Market right now waiting for something to happen.

Heard there will be uber loot drops too.

Better get there quick so you don't miss it.

The MONK Assault quest, located in the Marketplace on Silversmith Road, is now available to all! Help defend the barracks in this special Monk Week quest, available for a broad range of levels. Players interested in the quest may select any of the three difficulties:

For the level 6 Monk Assault, select "Normal"
For the level 12 Monk Assault, select "Hard"
For the level 18 Monk Assault, select "Elite"

These difficulty levels are unlocked automatically, and do not have to be played in order. This quest will be available for several days. Help defend Stormreach!
