i am sure its vista related ......
i hit the shortcut and it goes through all the steps
and then poofs disappears and pops up that
Turbine Launcher needs permission
click continue
launches launcher
runs through every step
then disapears
asks for permission
and so forth non stop

This may seem counter-intuitive...

Open up the Properties tab for your DDO shortcut, go to Compatability, and make sure you do NOT have 'Run this program as an administrator' checked.

With it checked on my computer, I get the UAC alerts from hell you mention, unchecked everything's dandy

I have tried to unclick everything and the problem still is there.
only solution I have found is to reinstall
but the problem only happens after i disconnect from playing and try to get back on again be it 1 minute or 1 hour

Check the following files for the "Run as admin" checkbox:

dndclient.exe
turbinelauncher.exe
turbineinvoker.exe

It definitely sounds like a permissions issue after the game patches.

yes all three have permision as suggested
the problem still persits

if i repair the folder ( basically reinstall) everything works after i set three files permission launcher loads updates and i can sign in
after i get done or something unfortunate disconnects me I can restart no problem watch it go through every step and see my sign in qand than it disappears and asks for permission.
It already has it
There is no other copies running in task manager jsut the one i am in

Try creating a new standard user account in Vista and logging in to DDO from that account.

If you are able to, this would indicate an issue with UAC (a built in security feature of Vista).

As my grandmother always said, " You are a gentleman and a scholar, Yeti!!"
Thank you so much no more do I have to reload DDO after i sign off. Again thanks!
