The prereqs say that you need TWF, a BAB of +6, and a dex of 17. My Elf rogue/ranger 12/2 going on 13/2 wants to take this feat but can't. My Dexterity is as follows:
14 base
3 feat
1 insight
4 enhancement
---------------
22 total

I know that the enhancement bonus is never counted when you level but what about the others? With out the enhancement bonus I still have a dex of 18 so why can't I take Improved TWF? Any ideas?

You only factor your base stat and any inherent bonuses for the purposes of being able to take a feat. In your case a base DEX of 14 and an inherent DEX bonus of +1 from a +1 DEX tome brings you to a total of 15 DEX, as far as feat prerequisites are concerned.

The Feat bonus (which comes from the Enhancements you got with your APs) doesn't count either, since you could re-spec out of that in the future and reduce yourself below the requirements for the TWF feat.

well that stinks hard. I guess I just need to find a +3 tome then.

The game doesn't allow temporary stat boost to be used for Feat Pre-Reqs.

Stat items (Shroud Weapons, Jewelry, Spells) and Enhancements do not count. That means the three points you're gaining from your enhancements (they show up as Feat) don't count.

The only numbers that matter are Base (Starting plus level up stat points) and Inherent bonuses.
