Me and some buddies of mine have always wondered.....does the time that the pit fiend stay in that "power absorbtion" state affect how many hp's he has that we have to try to get rid of? We have a feeling that it does but not completely sure. Can we get some enlightenment? :)

nah he's got the same amount of hit points whether you fight him in 30 seconds or 30 minutes. The amount of tiem ahs no affect on his hp's.

ok cool thx. my buds and i just felt like he had more hp than we expected for the difficulty and therefore thought that that had something to do iwth it.

Wouldn't be so sure of this.

I heard he has less hitpoints if you diplo all the chests on the way to part 5 :D :D

Actually it would be brilliant if they did make it tougher if you delayed, and it would eliminate the cheese approach

we are about 99.9999 % sure

we waited over 30 minutes for teamate to reconnect after dc....and killed him in 4 minutes I would say if he has more hp...its not noticeable

Yup - I was on that run also - no noticable difference.

It may not be a literal timer...another thought is it could be based on a counter, perhaps how many times the pools are used. Or it may be that he's the same either way and there is no difference. It would be cool though, imho, if there was some incentive to go fast.

I had also heard rumors about his HPs growing, so recently I've been in a run where we killed the lieutemants real fast, and it really didn't seem to make any difference (compared to typical runs that take about 10 mins to get ready).
