Hey all, my new pally is 10th and I'm looking for decent level stuff to solo. I live in switzerland and have some odd playing hours.
At first I thought I would go to the desert and start doing those quests.
purge the fallen shrine went really smooth
chains of flame was a bit tougher
offering of blood was the biggest spanking I ever got....
that scorp avatar beat me like he caught me sleeping with his wife...
sooo... trying to avoid that. Any suggestions? Is Raiyum doable for example? Or am I in the wrong spot? Is it time for Giant hold already?

Soloing gets more and more difficult the higher level you go, and there is no one particular ideal area for you to go to. Instead, look for quests that are 2, 3, 4 levels lower than you, whatever you can handle. I solo quite a bit with my Paladin and I would recommend to just use your favor log and sort by level to see what you haven't done yet on normal, hard and elite.

If you can handle Chains you can certainly handle wiz-king (and pick up 8k xp at that level!). I find it to be the easiest of the bunch to solo, by a wide margin. The difficulty is increased somewhat by not being able to reach 18 intelligence, but that just means more killing -- there's no way to run out of resources in there. And you're a pally, so you can't forget to equip your fear and disease immunity.
Beyond that, there's that house k-favor quest in house P whose name escapes me at the moment. Something to do with sewers. Takes about 12 minutes, and you can probably solo normal/hard/elite at that level for a solid 13k xp or so total.
There's also always East Threnal 2. Some of the best xp in-game. There's also West 3, although it isn't worth as much xp, and takes a comparable length of time.
Don't forget about the titan pre-reqs as well -- HIPS would be hard to solo because of the end fight, but Ghola-Fan and Shrieking should both be alright if you bring enough pots/wands.
Depending on your build, you might find Trial by Fire or Relic of a Sovereign Past worth attempting as well -- I believe a level 10 character can have a high enough AC to floor attack bonuses in both of those.
And if you haven't already soaked up all of the xp, the big chain quests are mostly solo-able at that level -- grey moon/co6 certainly is, delera's is except for the lever in part 2, the vons are if you can reach 14 intelligence.
Really, there's very little that isn't soloable if you bring the appropriate equipment, resources, and attitude. I'm currently trying to solo Reaver with my level 12 sorc (before he levels to 13...). Not sure if I'll succeed with that one, but he did Trial at level 11 and Feast at 12, which I figure isn't too shabby. ;)
And that scorp in offering is pretty hard without true seeing. :)

At L10, you can get a decent amount of XP by running all the explorer points in the desert and in gianthold. If you see any named, kill them for more XP and a chest.
Do a search on the forums for Dorim's map shop for some very good maps.

Good advice so far guys, thanks a lot
Done Hips (normal... just a matter of taking out the lead singer in the end then you can hop up and down as you need to heal)
Did co6, threnal and delaras on elite. That got me 4 bubs wee
now I just gotta do the explorer in the desert and giant hold along with a solo run in wizard king normal.
That should get me 11 and at the level to start doing giant hold.
Nice one guys.

Tear of Dhakaan (Arzag-Khor Sewers)
It's level 7 though, I think, so might lose out some on exp until you get it up to elite. Also can't get to either of the shrines without a way to open locks, so be prepared ;)
