Help Crafting

Sorry for sounding like a noob.. but for crafting, I am one... I want to make the following item..

Great Commander Goggles of Existential Stalemate (Gratch) Ethereal + Escalation + Positive - Material + Opposition + Negative (Nice Cleric Goggles)

I have my greensteel goggles. And I understand the first upgrade tier... (Ethereal+escalation+positive). Once I'm done there, is the second tier upgrade at the end of part 4 the (material+opposition+negative)? or am I missing a step?

I guess I don't understand the focus upgrade portion of the process... I get that after my first upgrade I would have added +50sp and +1 Cha skill bonus to the goggles. What is the next step in the process??

You upgrade your base greensteele item at the end of Shroud Part 1. The second upgrade comes at the end of Shroud part 3, and the third tier upgrade will be done at the end of part 5.

So the Aspect bonus effect Existential Stalemate........= Positive..+ Negative..= Wisdom +6, Diplomacy +10, Haggle +10
comes from the fact that I used a positive on the first upgrade and a negative on the second upgrade? Is this an automatic bonus you get from the combination of the two?

Thanks.. that helped a lot... now I just need to make up my mind what I REALLY want on the stupid things besides the wiz vi and the +150sp.........
