With the lack of a teleporter to Meridia, I have accustomed myself to /deathing when I need to get there quickly. Last night, I'm playing GTA IV and want to go near a hospital. I drove to a gas station, got out of the car, and placed a grenade at my feet. Instant teleport to where I wanted to go! Thanks alot DDO:mad:

GTA IV, and here I thought Europe didn't have the gun and weapons problems that the bad ole U.S. had. ;)

Similarly: I recently picked up a PSP and got Dungeons and Dragons: Tactics with it (along with a few other games)....

...thanks to DDO, I died in the tutorial.

Here's how!

I was learning to cast spells. I had a fighter and a sorcerer on the game grid and three goblins ahead of me. Two of the goblins were shooting arrows at my sorc, which was hurting him due to his low hit points. The tutorial was like "now its time to learn to cast fireball!"

I thought my sorc was going to die before he got the chance, so I came up with this strategy:

1. Move the fighter in front of the sorc.
2. Have the fighter shield block (defense mode)
3. Have the sorc cast fireball.

Umm....yeah. You guessed it. Charred fighter and sorc. Laughing goblins, I'm sure.

Remember: DDO's spellcasting differs from pen and paper and other DnD-based video games.

Thank you.

With the lack of a teleporter to Meridia,....

Veheer is helpful in this regard, and sidesteps the necessity to always be bound in Meridia. Granted, he can be a little fickle sometimes, giving ya a quick tour of necro, or GH, but usually sees fit to send ya where ya wanna go. :)
