For those just tuning into DDO, there was a time that long quest such as Tangle Foot gave static rewards, in short, a pregenerated list of items that you could choose from. Instead of some named items and the rest random, you got a list of all of the named items upon completion. At some time during the growth of the game, the request came out that the loot should be random.
I'd like to expand on that method of loot and ask, what if that applied to all the named loot chest. For example, Reaver, Titan, and Vault of the Night. Also to a lesser extend the Shroud.
Reaver, Titan, and Von are easy to explain, you get the full list upon completion.
Shroud, you get a full list of materials upon completion, and section relevant list as you progress through the Raid.
Shield Pieces, Tome pieces are a bit harder, but what can be done here too?
Good, bad? I know there are some bad, but I can't materialize it. The good is pretty easy to see. I suppose one bad would be that getting nice named loot will no longer take 20 completions (and that is not for sure either) so those that have gone ahead might think that they got cheated. But I also remember a time when DQ and Titan got short maned for named loot.
More Low level quest.
Nothing new here, just more low level quest so when we do get the monks and one day half orcs we can go different paths to leveling up. It seems like we have had a dimishing returns on quest, fewer and fewer every mod. Might just be a perception of mine.
I know its way late in the game for this but still an idea that I had, why don't we get loot that is useful in the coming quest...let me explain.
When you beat STK, you get a list of items that would have been good to use in that quest, why not instead of getting it then, have the shorter quest in the marketplace drop the items there. For example, Proof is in the Poison, why not have it drop poison immun items and lesser spider bane weapons. Or have another quest drop admantine weapons? Things like that, so when we go off to visit the Guardian we will be equiped to take care of business.
These are just a couple suggestions, but I'm sure you've had the good idea to do this or that, lets hear em.
Also I don't mind "you're loonier than a rustmonster at a Warforged Pottery Convention", but give me some details as to why.
