Okay folks tired of all the exploit threads (seriously cant wait for the next big thing for forum people to jump on cause this is soo last week) So im making a light hearted thread about weapons/items id imagine being able to use in Epic DDO. Please note I am not asking for said weapons to be made, this is just a lighthearted look at some of the things id play with if they were availible or able to craft them. Feel free to put your own fantasy epic item or weapon its all in good fun ^_^.
Here are just a few to start:
1. Robe of the supreme archmagi- 200 spell points, deathblock, elemental protection all, hp and natural +5 spell resistance boost that can stack with SR items.
This robe gives of the aura of pure magic, only a weilder who has come with complete understanding of the arcane can wear such a fine garment. Those who try without proper studies of the arcane will find themselves wearing a simple robe with no properties. Arch Mages from across the lands seek out such a finely crafted robe only when they are confident in their abilities, and even then some find themselves only wearing a plain robe.
2. Ceacus the sword of the heavens, good aligned only, supreme destructon disruption against evil, undead, ac boost even saves creature takes a half hp reduction. Its blade is extremely sharp, but only serves as a vorpal against evil/undead creatures, when dealing with other alignments or most mortals it functions as a bastard sword with an extra critical ratio. The aura about it will not affect anyone of good or neutral alignment unless they pull an act vile enough for an alignment shift.
Forged by the Clan of Heavens fireforgers this dwarven made blade is shatter proof and durable. Its very site causes most evil and undead to quake with fear because they know one swipe will annihilate them immediately.
3. Saveio and Everto the assassins hand scythes- Weilder gains duel bladed ability with no penalties to dexterity. Both blades can be considered vorpal and do an extra amount of critical damage to anyone of lawful alignment. It also provides superior shadows, and ability that drapes its master in a cloak that gives a 90% chance of a critical sneak attack.
Saveio the blade of violent action, and Everto the Destroyer. The essense of two agents of chaos were merged into a pair of hand scythes that make any rogue an ultimate assassin. Extremely sharp they have the ability to severe ones head before the person can feel a thing. Made of an extremely rare alloy the scythes are also very light allowing their master to weild both without any limit to the persons dexterity. A master of theses blades is surely an assassin to be feared.
4 Essense Bow of Sylvyn or Fey- This bow strike unerringly shooting phamtom arrows that strike target or object no saving throw to prevent. IF natural 20 is rolled creature is slayed. The gods and goddesses of the hunt only make one of these bow every tenth year at the beginning of spring. It is laid upon the woods, to be found by hunters of peerless abilities. Once the bow has found its master, he/she finds it becomes an apendage or second limb. Able to unerringly fired and take down opponents with ease a weilder of this bow is truly a fearsome foe.
5. The Hammer of balance- True neutral abilty abile to negate effects caused by alignment differences. Once per day a strike causes "Annihlation" which instantly destroys a non netural character on a roll of natural 20. Light and durable it allows even thoses who are not proficient in weilding the weapon the ability to use it as long as they are of the true neutral alignment. Chaotic and Lawful are not allowed to use the special properties of this weapon though can weild it as a normal hammer.
This hammer was made by the watchers, it said that when its weilded it is a force that can stop a war in its path. It is only used in times when factions are out of control and when it is used it is known as the great Equalizer.
Okay so sue me im bored and also an aspiring writer so I think of these things. Also no one is on to play with and dont have enough plat to really shop hehe. So these are just a few things ive thought of got some more written down but dont have stories or abilities for them yet. Once I do I will put them here. Till then hope you enjoy my attempt at bringing something other then the latest threads into the fray.

I'd like to see the Robe of Many Things in a very "Semi-Chaotic Effect" ability. IE, the robe changes its nature every instance and equipping it may be beneficial in that particular quest at that particular time. It should also have a x5 or x10 charge effect (restable) in which it may do a particular random effect from a table built explicitly for the robe. One time it may be casting lightning in an instance. In another, magic missiles, in a third, protection from evil and a fourth the jump spell as per a X-th level caster.

That would be a cool item I can already think of a story for it to. "Wearers of this robe should beware, for while it may benefit you one moment the next it could spell disaster. Like a deck of many things or a Rod of Wonder no one is sure what they will recieve from the Robe of Many Things. So only weilders who love chaos or are confident in their arcane studies should wear. Others should only touch with caution.
Good item Kistilan ^_^

Wow…items that would add some sort of role playing to DDO…wait a minute…why would anyone want role playing in a game titled “Dungeons and Dragons.” Silly human thinking out of the box like that is dangerous to us all. Remember having our fighters surround a monster and hack at it for 20 minutes is all the glory us players need. Hahaha…can’t complain.. I love this game.

Epic returning halfling - This is the epic of annoying. Stats:
Returning - no matter how far you throw him/her, it returns to bother you
+4 to pestering skill - Tells lewd jokes to people, and always pokes them on the shoulder/back (depending on their height) saying "hey, hey, hey!"
+2 to tumbling - little bugger always tries to roll around
-2 to listen - it's hard to hear anything with a halfling in your backpack yelling in your ear.

I know id hate to be the pit fiend with that item against me lol. And djsonar919 I think one day ddo will have more things for role playing and those interested in that aspect..but who knows like ya said still a fun game.
Okay here are two more that I thought of stories behind not really good on giving bonuses and didnt feel like digging out or looking up dnd stat stuff since this is just a fantasy thread. These are two more items that would be in my backpack if possible (and if they werent so overpowered lol what can I say if im creating them in my mind they are bound to be uber) ^_^
Gauntlets of the Master Pugelist- sort after by those warriors who know that a trainned hand is as good as a sharp sword. These gauntlet give a natural +5 ac bonus and a +5 to critical striking blows to an opponent. ON a roll of 20 the opponent depending on their size and stature has the chance of being stunned for 3 rounds or knocked unconscious. Though gauntlets the feel of these silken creations are like thin gloves that attune themselves to the weilders hands.
Tome of the realms- A sort after book for the arcane, this tome changes abilities once per day adding a bonus stat to the wearer for 24 hours. On any given day a reader of the tome may recieve a bonus to wisdom, dexterity, strength, constitution, intelligence, or charisma. This book was the collaboration of several beings of different realms. Each page contains rituals to build up the body, mind, health and even looks of a person. highly sort after and prized many have fell fool to false copies.

I'd also like to see....
A Rod of Wonder.
A Deck of Many Things.
A Cloak of the Bat. (literally allows player to manuever in the air for a period of time)
A Robe of the Wolf. (literally, changes wearer in quest to permenant hasted dire wolf)
A Luck Blade (I don't think this exists, does it?) as an effect on blades, granting blades saving throws and skill check bonuses.
A Wish Blade (Granting x3 spells per rest, levels 1-x, players choice and possibly loaded at rest)
I'd like to see Force Armour become a new effective enchantment that even blocks incorporeal attacks.
I'd like to see weapons with alignments and intelligence. I'd like to see evil become a factor here in weapon alignments. I'd like to see the vile weaponry become a somehow viable tactics out of the hands of a raging barbarian.
A Ring of Telekinesis would be a GREAT ring item. Force Explosions and a Attractions (rip 1 of 3 beholders directly to you, leave the other 2 wondering how their buddy moved so quickly ahead of them or behind them).
A Ring of Thought Turning ie high-powered Domination would be nice new ring too.
Staff of the Negative Energy Plane -- Remove Spell Points from Target into Staff. Powers Wielder's spellpool.
Staff of the Positive Energy Plane -- Removes Spell Points from Self into Target (can funnel into MOBs too, although why I have no idea unless they curb their spellpools).
Staff of the Elemental Chaos -- Flame Strike, Ice Storm, Ball Lightning, Disintegrate & Summon Elemental, 1x per rest each. Random Elemental, permenant. Staff is reacharged when wielder is struck by Fire, Electricity, Ice or Acid. Wielder must be wielding the staff at the time and receive at least 1 point of elemental damage.

Wand of Hello Kitty
-50 to Charisma perception by all creatures with an Int above 3. All others perceive +50 Cha.
Repellent to all monsters
Causes all Giant-type monsters to become supremely enraged, treat the holder as an elf, and madly try to beat them down ala 28 Days Later
10d20 confusion generated by laughter at holder followed by fear for 5d6 minutes
Seems to have a weak sonic damage capability to judge by its buzzing and vibrating but nothing has been reported damaged by it thus far
Doomsday Device
Portable Hole and Bag of Holding in a springloaded box with a big red button clearly marked in ninety-eight different languages DO NOT PUSH THIS UNLESS GETTING WIPED BY PIT FIEND.
Orcus' Other Wand
Casts Bigby's Backscratching Hand 3x per day, unerringly hits without any chance of missing the following: annoying paperboys, bards who sing off tune, and Demogorgon's mother.
Deck of Monte
On use on any character or monster for which a surprise roll is successful, robs them blind with one deal. Useable 3x per day, less if the civic guards catch you.
Monk Frock
Anyone wearing this long black coat while unarmed suddenly gains all powers of a 20th level monk, but it attracts devils from Shavarath who keep pointedly addressing you by your real life name preceeded by "Mister" like they're obsessed.
Goggles of Supreme Cool Commander
Easily knocked off and randomly damaged quite frequently, but gives a short term +20 to Cha for those seeing them for the first time, -10 to Cha for those same people ten minutes later. When worn with Monk Frock allows short term flying similar to that granted by the Stormreaver, but as if double hasted, and only outside in the market place. Also, it cancels feather fall for 30 seconds when the duration is up so watch how high up you fly.
Lastly...
Sword of Confusion
Causes halflings to exclaim that you are great, but also causes you to have great career focus difficulties and you seem forgotten quite a bit by others who often go, "wait, didn't you..."
Wand of Waggro
A small statue which acts as a flute, playable 3x per day, all enemies within 30 yards suddenly hear their missus calling and immediately leave the instance to go take trash out and sit through a chick flick with them. Works even on some red named including the Pit Fiend, but not DQ. She merely gets angrier that you're talking with some strange hussy and gets a +30 to hit all male toons. Female toons nearby become unplayable NPC enemies for the duration.

I seem to remember there being something like this in the game. It drops in Gwylen's stand.. I think.. I haven't seen one in a long time.

i would love to see some classic dnd artifacts implemented into the game, oh lets say baba yagas hut (a crummy lookong tent thats magical amd can move along with atacking amd castimg differemt spells n regemerates plus inside o it there is a mansion), axe of the dwarvish lords (basically a real powerful dwarven axe that turns u into a dwarf over time), iron flask of tuerny the merciless (get to summon n control a major demon a greater devil or something similar), orbs of dragonkind (make u more powerful n u can control a dragon of a certain age depending on the power of orb), and the teeth of dahlver-nar (u have to replace ur teeth with his n u will either be granted a power or increase to a stat but u also might get a curse from one, the more teeth of his u have the more powerful u become)
