As you progress in levels, your BAB increases, but you also gain additional attacks per round.

What BAB's give what number of attacks?

What else does BAB give? (Besides the ability to hit your target)

In DDO, every multipule of 5 gives you another attack. Besides the standard 0 and 1 BAB.

bab is also used to determine your ability to take certain combat feats for example improved 2 weapon fighting requires a BAB of +6 before you can take it

wait....does this count with ALL classes? i havnt played every class on ddo, but i know in pnp, the melee classes get them every 5 lvls....but all others get another swing on different lvls. rogue/cleric is 1/3, i think?

All classes get the attack swing increases once their BaB reaches the required multiple of 5.

Some classes, however, do not receive a BaB increase at every level, therefore do not aquire the increased attack swings as quickly as pure melee classes.

The Divine Power spell, which increases your BaB, will also grant you these higher lvl attack swings temporarily should your BaB increase sufficiently to allow them.

In DDO and in PnP, each class has a different BAB progression. Barbarians, Fighters, Paladins and Rangers get +1 BAB every level, while Sorcerers and Wizards only get +1 BAB every other level. The other classes start with 0 BAB, and get +1 BAB for 2/3 levels thereafter.

So, whenever your total BAB reaches the 5 multiplier, you get an additional attack per round.

This spell actually increases your BAB to equal that of a fighter the same level, so you should have the same number of attacks per round as a fighter of the same level during the duration of the spell. It's great for clerics who like to (or need to) jump into the fray occasionally.

Okay, now I don't know if that clarified anything or just muddied up the water even more. :D

Umm ........ He said every increase of 5 in your BAB gets another attack. 15 is the next multiple of 5 after 10.

They're using the same formatting to say 2 different things

0/1/5/10/15

Is referring to the BAB level at which a character is getting a swing increase:
BAB 0 - 1 Swing
BAB 1 - 2 Swings
BAB 5 - 3 Swings
BAB 10 - 4 Swings etc

0/0/5/10/10

Would refer to the attack BONUS applied to each swing.

It appears to be just a bit of a label problem.
So add that to the "What does BAB give you." While giving you extra swings, it also gives you an attack bonus for those 3rd, 4th and 5th swings.

All you arcane players should know that this spell is availble in a clicky. You can find it on boots, gloves, gauntlets, rings and goggles; cloak and necklace? You can get it with 5 charges on an item and it will last 50 seconds. The spell will turn your caster into a fighter for the to-hit purposes along with the increased attacks.

Divine Power clickies are fundamental to my characters build. It is also how I am able to have a +48 to hit while being a pure sorcerer. :D

I carry 5 bracers each with 5 charges - Generally I only need 10 charges for a quest, but some of the longer ones...

(nitpicking here) the clicky ones last 42 secs. (level 7 X 6 secs./ level)

I think that's wrong, I think its 0/1/5/10/10

However in DnD it is supposed to be 0/6/11/16 for break points in numbers of attacks, and you don't get bonuses for later attacks- you get penalties.

Isn't overpowered melee due to a messed up attack progression fun?
