OK maybe not the only way, but one sure fire way.

DDO sells plat, items, leveling for super super cheap. If it was an ingame option/service There would be no reason or motivation for anyone to farm or spam inside the game.

Ok people probably wouldn't want to play a game where everything could be bought for real money, people would feel like it was a scam.... But are the people who employ the plat farmers any different than the producers of the MMORPGs in the first place? We all want to believe they aren't one in the same..... How about they prove it?

Simple- Make a server where all services are free. Special NPCs in the game on that server will give you XP, items, Gold, whatever you want in any quantity you want for free. Anyone who wants to play that way, test builds etc. can go to that server and do it. Kind of like Risia but instead of a place for DDO to test their stuff, a place for powergamers to test their builds and try out different equipment and stuff.

DDO could charge extra for this or provide it for free. The whole purpose though is to kill the spammers/farmers fanbase.

If they can't make money here they'll stop finding new ways to spam us. We'll fight them to the very end by simply trying to cut off their access. Instead kill their food supply- kill/steal their CUSTOMERS.

would be to limit the capacity to send tells either

a) to someone i added to my friends list

b) tells disabled to anyone that is not within 3 levels of the sender. So when we play a capped toon,if we get a tell,it's a lvl 13 we will get banned et voila.
we'll be annoyed the first week of creation of a new character until he passes about lvl 6 but then that's it

Very interesting ideas, but it seems that that would result in the tail wagging the dog don't ya think?
