I have played quite a few MMO's but my favorite class combo is the Dark Knight from FFXI. I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on how to make a similar type of charactor here in DDO. I'm more into the roleplaying and grouping aspect of the game so it doesn't have to be a great soloer. Here are some points to it:
- Two hand damage dealer
- Limited spellcasting => Mostly Debuff's and small nukes, maybe necromancer like? dark magic type stuff.
- Middle of the road AC, the higher the better, but definately isn't a tank.
- Has a very reliable stun
I guess the main point would be to have as high damage 2-hand while still being able to cast a few spells, (no healing), without reguard for much else. I can see where this would be a difficult char to play, but I'm up for the challenge and like I said, I am more into the RP. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Look up the Prestige Class, Blackguard. Figure in the fact that DDO has no evil aligned toons and you can make a pretty fun build.
I would go:
5 Wizard, 4 Rogue, 7 Fighter or 6 Paladin, 4 Rogue, 6 Fighter (if you want a viable end game).

Might consider a THF battlecleric or tactics fighter or paladin. The "very reliable stun" is tricky to get in DDO with a competent melee class. Either have to fake it with a melee attack like stunning blow, or make a strong caster that can self-buff for good melee capability.

Yeah I was noticing that. It was just one of the staples of the Dark Knight class. Having the Stun spell. which more or less was a guarenteed interupt. I was playing with some builds today but I'm still not sure how I would do it. I'm guessing Fighter/Wizard with two handed and a little variety of debuff/damage spells would be in order. I tried doing it with the rogue in there like Illuminati suggested but I guess at that point it got too confusing to me to keep track of skills and stuff. I was using the Char generator.

Unfortunately, DDO doesn't support that idea well. They could easily add some of the matching D&D classes, such as Hexblade, but they've chosen not to (for marketing reasons that are quite understandable).
Do achieve your goal, you'd really come closest as something like dwarf/warforged cleric14/fighter2. Having mostly cleric levels will make it unavoidable that you can heal, but you can always hold back on casting those spells if you prefer. Try to start with 16 str/wis and 14 con. Take stunning blow and THF fighter feats, and also Heighten and Spell Focus (enchant, necro, or evoc) for a cleric feat.

There is basically no guaranteed interrupt in the game .. the closest I can think of is Otto's Irresistable Dance. Not particularly spooky stuff however, and requires 15 levels of Wizard.

One of the reasons there is no guaranteed interrupt is that monsters always get their spells off once they've started casting, even if you kill them. I hate getting hit by an acid arrow from a dead quickfoot caster....

Im new to this online dnd game. However I must say from my "LARPG" experience. The blackguard suggestion would be best. This conclusion coming from my experience with a dark knight on ff xi myself.
Edit: Btw Blackguard is sort of a pallidan opposite. Palidans deect evil while the blackguard detects good. Dark colored heavy platemail. Large sword etc. Puts you in mind of the dark knight.
