Now, I've read throught the support site that once you've established an account with Turbine, you no longer need your product key, or if necessary, they can retrieve that information for you. But if memory serves, I need the product key to install the software. Am I wrong in this? Could I simply download the digital install and somehow magically, once installed, it recognizes the fact that I have an established account with Turbine for DDO?
I would love to get the game installed to the new system and try out the new rig with the high-rez graphics, but I don't won't to go through the install process only to find I can't complete it unless I have my product key handy. To make matters worse. I just spent all morning calling and driving around to different EB Games stores to buy another copy. Found one about 35-40 mins from my house, drove out, bought it, got it home and behold! The box only had the manuals and such in it with NO CD! :*(
The gods are against me, I'm sure of it!

You dont need anything but your account logina nd password. The Key is used to set up your account initially. Just DL the latest package, Install, and log in. all set.

Oh I SO hope that's the ticket. But ever being hopeful, I anticipated that might be a possibility and started the download process immediatly after my post. About another 40 mins and with luck, I'll be on my way to DDO goodness! :D

You can bet I did. I didn't get vicious about it like I normally would because the store manager was very apologetic on the phone, ensured me that he would have a couple copies shipped to his store from another location and if it wasn't convenient for me to come back in to pick it up when it arrives next tuesday, he would have an employee drive it to me.
Now that's really something. Having a store manager offer to have an employee deliver to door to make up for a error on thier part. If it was out of my way to stop there, I would take him up on that offer. But, luckily the store is right on the road I take home from work, so I'll just swing in on my way home Tuesday and I'll have my backup copy.
The download just completed and I'm beginning installation as I type this, so with luck, I'll finally be able to get my DDO fix on the new rig very shortly. :D
