Heya,

I have been playing DDO for a few months now, and have my Bard up to level 14. What I love about the bard is that I can take the role of dps, healer, CC, buffer in a group - or do all those things in a single fight. I have lots of things to do constantly, rather than the game seeming one dimensional, like it does for my girlfriend's killing machine barbarian(which she really enjoys).

I have a friend joining soon, and I know he has similar tastes as me, and will want a character with a lot of variety. Keeping in mind he only has 28pt builds, and won't be building a drow, what are some interesting classes?

I haven't played any of the following, but I thought:

a) Maybe some kind of intimatank/tactics fighter - taking the 'tank' role of WOW. Getting to do trips, stuns, threat management, etc.

b) Cleric, with a level fighter or a weapons feat - should be able to fight almost as well as my bard as well as being a good healer? With even a little CC.

c) An all round caster/healer type cleric? (I think he will get bored if all he does is heal). So he can blast/cc/heal

d) Does a wizard have much variety? - buffs/cc/nuke? add a couple of levels of rogue for a trap monkey?(maybe not viable for a 28pt build)

e) Some kind of paladin that can fight well/tank/and add some genuine healing?

f) Obviously a bard would fulfill the requirements.

Any effective ideas would be appreciated!

Cheers
