Now .. I am not a computer whiz or anything.. but how hard can it be to take these out of the loot tables? The servers were down yesterday for "upgrades" and yet these things are still dropping? Nothing gets me going more then when Turbine spends their time "nerfing" things when easy fixes and bugs are ignored. Really..seriously... how hard is it to take these out of the loot tables?

You wouldn't think it was hard....but who knows how they are coded and since every fix breaks something

They have told us to hold on to them and promissed they will be "sought after" in mod 7. (And ya, I get frustrated when I pull a large horn too)

According to the ask-the-devs segment in the latest ddocast, the horns will have a use as of mod 7 and although the particular use has not been revealed yet, it has been stated that you should keep them as you will dissapointed if you don't.

I was told that the horns may be needed to create sonic based weapons and items.

I also heard some ramblings on the forums or a rumor that they may be used as a wildcard item.

I heard neither confirmations nor denial by developers that they are so.

I do keep them. The point is... they have no use NOW. People farm the shroud so they can craft things NOW. It seems like such an easy fix yet they haven't done it. And IMO it stinks and comes across like they just don't care. They figure... hey it lowers the drop rates for USEABLE large ingredients which means more grinding. I wouldn't mind if it was something that was an indepth problem that they couldn't fix do to time constraints... but this seems like the easiest thing to fix. I know I am not the only player who is really annoyed by it. Yet they don't think it is a big deal. I honestly think they like the fact that they are lowering the USEABLE large ingredient drop rate.

If you are so annoyed by it; please contact the Orien folks to deliver all your horns to me. I am on Sarlona.
Believe you are too?

I keep my horns... thanks :)

Still plenty of time to farm them next mod...they don't need to be dropping now when we could be getting other larges that we could use to craft.

Unless you are like me and dont care about crafting and have large horns to sell once the Mod and their usefullness comes out. :D

Hey Debo,

I have a ghost touch buckler here with your name on it. Send me all your horns.

Don't see an issue. There are a lot of other things in game that have no use. Why isn't anyone complaining about amber vials? I have enough Doom scrolls, thank you. Or how about RR:Warforged leather armor? Heck, what about hide armor or splint mail in general?

I'm glad they're in loot tables. If they're going to be "highly sought after" in the next mod as Turbine has eluded to, then there won't be such an insane rush for everyone to get them on day one of Mod7.

There´s a rumor that Horns keep dropping even though the devils have been using Demonic-Grade Rogain....

Maybe they should try contacting Bosley´s Institute for Horn care?

(Just like you Luka, I hate useless drops)

That isn't a relevant comparison because amber vials and rr warforge armor aren't dropping in place of items that are sought after and farmed by design. People run shroud over and over again in an effort to get ingredients to craft. When the drop rate for these ingredients are reduced as a result of a bug that Turbine doesn't see as a priority to fix I think people have the right to be annoyed.

i agree on the horns thing, but i take issue with the hide armor, i love hide armor and wear it on my barbarian exclusively

I'm going with the theory that the horns are used to craft ghost touch shields :)

Judging by the way horns drop, we must need 20 or more to do anything with them... when such a time comes when they have value.

I betcha they're going to be used to make something really cool in Mod 7.......except you'll need Small Splintered Horns (that don't drop now) to craft whatever it is and the drop rate for those will be impossibly low :(

No, they're not farming them NOW as most groups are lagging too much to even finish the shroud right NOW :D:D:D:D:D:D

We were told the same thing about collectibles and gems. We have seen at least SOME uses for collectibles in the WDA for mod 7.

I'd rather pull a large horn with some hope than no large at all.

The OP is right though....

This is a very very simple fix... ridiculously easy.... someone should have fixed it during the patch...

Large ingrediants are hard to come by anyway... There's no point in leaving horns in the loot tables, and continually disappointing people for no good reason...

the chest in part 5 guarantees you 1+ large ingredients, and it really sucks when it's a horn and you're 1 ing away from your item and have to wait another 3 days

the chest in part 4 has about a 35-40% chance of dropping 1+ large ingredients provided you're not ransacked

also, collectibles have always been useful, you get free stuff from random npcs by turning in x amount of them, gems, on the other hand, do nothing except take up inventory space and selling for a ridiculously low amount of gold

I read that you will be able to trade in Large horns for 100 Antique Bronze Tokens.

Why take them out of the tables just to put them back in later? That seems pointless. There are many other problems to address, if u get a horn then suck it up.

I think that it is just part of the game. People complain about getting multiple +3 tomes from the reaver or getting bound raid loot that they already have, but growing up playing D&D it was all about the random die roll loot tables. I understand that people are edgy about thier shroud loot, but come on it's really just part of the game. I have large horns and will hold onto them to see what happens with them in another month or so.

I seem to remember a time when we keep getting all these collectables like blessed candles thatwe had noone to trade them in to. Until they put the House Deneith ward guys in.

This is also my worry about the horns...that and the idea that they may be needed in the mod 7 raid crafting if there is some. Would be a very hard grind to have to farm ingredients from another raid to power the crafting of the current raid (mod 7 raid).
