value question: AC8 vs +6 stat ring

I have a pair of AC8 bracers up for trade. So far I've been offered two different +6 cha rings.

To be honest, I was expecting the bracers to be worth more. Am I reaching to far?

P.S. To the guys who have offered the rings, please take no offense. I'm just truely suprised by the interest level in this item.

While the bracers are nice, they also complete with fitting other nice Wrist Items (CHaocharde) etc, that fill that spot in AC builds. Most AC builds are not based on AC Bracers. Now you can get some decent AC with bracers and dex, but not enough to be real siginificant on most of the end game quests.

Its because White Dragon Robe + Chaosguarde = +8 Armor Bracers + <Robe Effect 1> of <Effect 2>. Most have the Heavy Fort helm so really u just are able to use a Guard Robe of some Resistance most robe wearers can cast.

I like the WD because with HIGH AC, most dont confirm crits and the shield clicky is nice. Most go this route. That, and +8 Armor bracers are RR and u lose a swap slot (Ethereal Bracers), etc. wearing them.

Yes, the bracers are worth a lot more. Simply throwing them on the AH would get you a lot more plat than +6 cha rings would ever sell for.

As has been mentioned, the problem with the value of those bracers is competition from Chaosgarde + White Scale Robe. That combo gives Armor 6 + Protection 4 + Dodge 2 = AC 12.

Wearing the bracers and a Protection 4 item equals that, and of course a protection 5 item exceeds it. Those bracers would go great with crafting in The Shroud. Instead of the typical Chaosgarde+WhiteRobe+MinosLegens, someone could try your bracers + Supreme Tyrant Green Steel Helmet of Mineral II. That helmet gives prot 5, heavy fort, 50 hp, and 2x uses of Stoneskin. So overall that's +1 AC and +31 hp, plus freeing the robe slot for Fearsome, or Deathblock, or Fire Resist, or Greater Stability, or whatever else.

AC8 bracers are fairly niche items (not many builds want them, mainly rogues), but they are exceptionally rare, which is why they are worth more than +6 stat rings in general (although I'd say a Con +6 ring would be a fair trade, as would a +6 (non-Wisdom) stat ring of a good clicky like Jump or Lesser Restoration).

They are so rare because they are (like items of the Archmagi) only available on race-required items, and can only be found on level 16 quests on elite, or the Shroud on Hard, or on the Shroud end reward lists.

I pulled a set from Rainbow on normal, AC +8 Elf/Drow RR. Work awesome on my dex build.
