I've played this game off an on since launch, and while I don't have any real endgame characters (heck, I'm feeling special now for hitting 10 on my main, since that was the original cap :P) I have at times found the searching for quests and parties to be somewhat monotonous. I'm a very casual gamer, and my reason for not playing most MMO's is that I can't keep up enough to really make it fun. However, last weekend I had the most fun I've had with this game in a long time. Two of my friends and I rolled new toons before the weekend, and were playing on level 2s and 3s. As we hooked up our computers in the same room of the house, we talked about what we might quest, and decided to just 3-man WW to test out how we played together. We basically ran through those steam tunnels, and I was feeling a little useless with my CCing bard who at level 2 only had his one buff song and certainly couldn't melee like my fighter friend. However, then we decided we would take a step up and try STK, now all of us level 3. As one might expect, we got through the first part with no problems, but as the second and 3rd parts came around it started becoming very strategic and exciting. The three of us bursted into laughter as I about had a conniption fit when my hypnotism finally stuck on the earth elemental, just as an arrow went soaring out of my partner's bow. This was followed by the ominous "Your acute senses detect danger" from my cleric friend, just before walking into the grid of fiery death (the phrase has now turned into an inside joke between us, because of just how ridiculous that room was with traps). It was so awesome to just sit back and slowly work our way through a dungeon we were not high enough level for, nor were we prepared for party-wise, instead of the frustrating norm of loot and favor running while not enjoying it. We plan to keep this group running together, and I invite anyone that just wants to have fun and is about level 3-5 (right now that is) to throw me a tell sometime. I just wanted to share my new appreciation for this game :-)
