Hot bars

So, they're being expanded. I watched my first ever ddo video on youtube and some guy has like 6 bars, but couldn't tell what he was doing so much, he was yelling and the video quality wasn't so good....

how is YOUR hotbar set-up set up?

What are the tricks you've learned to make it functional and rleiable and how differently do you set them up based upon your character? (ie. you have a cleric, a sorcerer a barbarian and a ranger).

I set up all my hotbars up the same way. I shorten my char log (make it thinner) and move my focus ball and dice roll up to just underneath the quest completion criteria. Then I line up 8 hot bars into two columns of 4 each. The last two for least used items and I keep them stacked underneath by #1 bar.

As for how I set them up, I put the most used ones on bar #1 (the one hot keys 1-0 activate). For my Barbarian, they are the my most generally used weapons (currently Bereavement + Shield, Sword of Shadows, Vorpal Greatsword, Greater Outsider Bane, and Transmuting Greataxe) + Repair light (he has 2 levels of Sorc to heal himself) + Trip and Rage.

On my casters, I set things up the same, just put my most used spells on the hot bar. Currently:
Finger of Death
Phantasmal Killer
Disinitigrate
Flesh to Stone
Scorching Ray
Fireball
Haste
Firewall
Enervation
and Otto's dance

Basically, the things I use the most I activate with a number key instead of mouse clicking. Therefore, those are the ones I want on my #1 bar.

This is something I am very much interested in.. I am having a hard time navigating through the hot bars. I tried to set up the UI the same way I had it set up in EQ. Well there are some problems I have found.. I guess I would like to see screen shots of how it is set up. That would helpful.

Did you know that you can undock your hotbars? If hit the arrow that points up and to the right, it will pop the hotbar on top out. You can have all 10 hotbars at the same time.

Additionally, if you have bars still stacked on top of each other, use can use the = (+) key to move up to the next highest bar and - to move down.

Sweet, so it can be like a rotating type deal? It would be easy if I could push a single button to scroll, and then keymap it. Say...o since I don't use it at all. then as I go to various bars, the number keys will use that selected item, right? NOW I'm in business!

I knew I could undock them.. I did that by mistake at first.. But I origiannly tried to place them all in top left corner of my screen. I have fond them in the way. I then moved them to the lower left and scrunched my chat screen to right. This is working for like 5 hotbars but if I put more on the screen it will tak away from what I am looking at.
